We came here with 17 people for a birthday party and they were very accomodating. The food was good, prices were reasonable, and BYOB which is always a plus. They also gave the birthday girl a chocolate covered apple. They were very sweet.
Hoboken is seriously lacking in good Asian food. I thought that maybe this place would be what redeemed Hoboken because I saw that this restaurant had a "People Love Us on Yelp!" sticker on the door. Now I'm sad because that sticker is not a guarantee that the place would be good. At all.
I came with my sisters. My middle sister is a big noodle fan, but she was thoroughly disgusted with her roast pork noodle soup. It was really bland and not salty at all. The meat in the dish was so so. She barely touched it.
My other sister and I shared a penang curry. It was also lacking a bit in flavor. I'm kind of a penang curry snob 🙂 so this didn't really win me over. The curry I like tends to be a bit thick. This one was extremely watered down…and I didn't really taste the coconut milk either.
We also got ikura, which is salmon roe. This was okay sushi, although to me the eggs were not that fresh. Also, at $3.50 for ONE PIECE, this is kind of pricey!
Anyway bottom line is: don't always trust that Yelp sticker.
Came by for a late lunch and it was conveniently located on Washington Street. The staff was rushing me as soon as I sat down (and there were only a few tables busy) and I had some questions about the menu and they had an attitude about it.
I ordered the dragon roll, a soup, and green tea. It definitely was not the best and was more on the slimy side which is hard for a dragon roll. There were a few other sushi places with better reviews so I'll definitely pass on this place next time.
A friend chose this spot for our lunch whilst I was visiting.
I got the lunch sashimi special. For ~$8.00, I'd say it wasn't a bad deal at all for Hoboken: salad, 6 pieces of sashimi, and a side of rice.
To my surprise, the fish was served to me room temperature (good) and tasted like it should have.
The rice seemed a little old which was disappointing/borderline sin for an Asian establishment.
Service was very friendly.
Meh. This place was ok. I ordered delivery. Got the Pad Tua or some variation (Thai basil with green beans and chicken). Chicken was good, but it was listed as hot and spicy and I've had pad thai that had more heat. Food seemed fresh, but it was overall nothing to write home about.
Their delivery was really quick, too.
Its nice to be able to get sushi delivered. The sushi is good, not excellent! Had to pay extra for sauces which I am used to but the wasabi mayo was like water and not sure why they just didn't tell me they knew what it was before charging me an extra $1
This was terrible.
Service was extremely fast but that does not make up for the terrible food.
Taste of the ribs are bad, meat is dry.
Spicy garlic chicken entree just was not good.
Fried chicken dumplings had a good flavor but the wrapper tasted like they had been sitting out all day…
3.5 stars.
Small, cute little place on Washington St in Hoboken. I am usually leery of Chinese/Japanese "blended" restaurants, but was very pleasantly surprised. Their rolls looked beautiful and fresh, but I was in the mood for Mango Sticky Rice, so I ordered the Seaweed Salad and MSR. I took one look at the Seaweed salad and when I saw it was on a bed of lettuce, I thought, "Oh brother. Another terrible seaweed salad." BUT! My assumption was WRONG! This was actually an EXCELLENT seaweed salad, and seaweed purist though I may be, I liked the complementary texture the lettuce brought to it. I gobbled it down and was so satisfied, I wish I had stopped there. The Mango Sticky Rice was a mistake. The rice itself was hard and barely sweet, with only a tiny film of coconut on the bottom. The Mango was NOT fresh and was overripe. EXTREMELY disappointing. But given how refreshing the Seaweed Salad was and the sweet server who prepared the To Go order, I'll keep the review at 3.5 stars.
BOTTOM LINE: Don't Miss the Seaweed Salad, but DON'T GO NEAR the Mango Sticky Rice.
