This establishment is located on a busy street in the Cypress Hills area of Brooklyn. Rico Pollo specializes in Dominican and Latin American cuisine. The food is this restaurant is true and authentic and also very delicious. Everything is perfectly seasoned. Today I ordered a 5 dollar lunch special that included a generous helping of rice, beans, and sweet plantains.
Aesthetically, the restaurant isn't very appealing. It's pretty small and always packed, it also doesn't have much natural light so it's too dark and stuffy for my taste. My waitress today was very friendly and sweet, but I noticed other tables having issues with their waitresses. I have heard that they are not particularly known for good service.
However, I do recommend this place for their food; hands down!
