  1. This place really caught me by surprised! While my husband & I was driving down forest avenue talking about what to eat, I immediately said pull over near this place with the huge sign saying "Colombian restaurant" I went on Yelp real fast, and seen the good reviews. We were seated right away, it was Easter…it was kind of empty, but started to fill up fast after we were seated.

The waitress was very attentive, and I started with some sangria, they only have red, no white, you can see the sangria is made fresh, they scoop it out of a huge bucket. It was actually very good, but small glasses, next time I will just order the pitcher.

We had the appetizer platter to start, it came with blood sausage ( which my husband loves not me! ) chorizo, potatoes, and some corn arepa thing, the only thing I enjoyed was the sausage (chorizo)

For dinner I had the churassco, and yuca, the yuca was very good, it was made my mash potatoes, and came with a creamy cheese sauce on top. The steak was very juicy, and surprisingly didn't have the average churassco Latin restaurant taste, it was more of a wine marinate, and I really enjoyed it.

I was pleasantly surprised to find such good Latin food on Staten Island, usually you have to travel to queens to get good Colombian food. Overall it was great, will suggest to anyone on Staten Island, and will be back.

  2. This authentic Columbian restaurant is everything and more in food and flavor!

On the weekends this place is packed out and its all different types of people overflowing this place and enjoying there awesome food. I usually come here during the week and I am never disappointed.

Prices are reasonable and they offer from chicken, seafood, steaks and more. They have soup specials daily and the best and most delicious appetizer is the shrimp in garlic and butter sauce with the flat bread plantains and the sweet plantain stuffed with ground meat! ITS SO FREAKING DELICIOUSO!!!

Entrees are large portions so you can share them with someone else. I love the steak the sauce of the steak and onions is so good, its sweet but tasteful and I dislike a dry steak! The rice is good, frijoles with the fried yuca on the side is a great side to the platter. Desserts are good too from rice pudding, tres leches and flan, they also have a mini bakery with fresh pastries and there coffee is really good!

Place is pretty big and nice decorations and good spanish music playing and not too loud, they have a mini bar area and also TVs.

You must try this place and you won't be disappointed!

  3. I struggled with this rating because the food itself was incredible!!!! Packed with so much flavor.

I had empanadas de carne (beef) and they werent too bad. My friend had cheese ones and they were super greasy. Their tostones were amazing.

She had fish, rice, and salad. I had beef stew and rice with beans. The food was honestly incredible. If you ask for water, they give you a bottle of water which costs 1.60.

Cost overall- this place is really affordable, very cheap. Also, it is a very nice setting they decorated well.

Why three stars than!? MY FRIEND FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HER LIFE GOT FOOD POISONING. She was throwing up among other things within an hour after we ate for the next 24 hours. She never gets sick off of food, so this was a shock.

Even though they were empty the servers were pretty bad, slow is not the word.

Although they were good I am weary of returning, she definitely would never return.

  4. My friend who lives in the neighborhood brought me here. It's just simply inside, could maybe do with a decorator, but the food is really good. Fried and fatty, but definitely good. I would recommend the empanadas. Whatever the little bowl of sauce that they serve with it is, should be bottled. My one gripe is that I would like more veggies!

  5. The food is great but sometimes the service can be extremely slow. What gets to me about this place is the slow let me get a knife ballad songs that they put while youre dining. Totally a buzz killer!

  6. Having to venture into the North Shore of Staten Island today to get my car fixed was not the best way to start off the new year. Fortunately for me, the Pep Boys was down the street from this restaurant which I bookmarked.

Being primarily in the South Shore, the food options in the North Shore was quite exciting. You just can't get hispanic food in the South Shore. I was excited to have some Colombian food since it's been a bit since I've had some tasty Colombian Chicharron. I wish i was dining with someone else so I could have had more to taste.

When ever i go to a new restaurant, i try to get their "national dish, " in this case the bandeja Paisa. It was good, was it the best? Not really, i've had better chicharron but it wasn't the worst either. It was pretty tasty as well as the mango batida that I ordered with it. If I'm ever back in the area, I would definitely come back.

  7. for the amount of money you spend on an entree – anywhere between $9 to $13 – you get A LOT of delicious food. My favorite is the country platter – yummy fluffy rice with lots of deliciously fried goodness to go with it. Their steaks are amazing (in fact I'm ashamed to say I had it two nights in a row) and who doesn't love a friend egg on top of your meal?! I also enjoy that the meal comes with avocado (so there's at least some green on my plate, right?) we took our meals to go both times, but each time the restaurant was full of patrons. the staff was friendly, our food was prepared quickly and ready as soon as we arrived to pick things up – overall, truly enjoyed the meals here at Rinconcito Paisa.

  8. Good Columbian food when we came in it was very empty so we had great service.
Food came out fast an we enjoyed it.
