  1. Decided to try something new tonight based solely on Yelp reviews and we stumbled upon rio bravo tacos. While some wanted to simply stick with our regular go to restaurant, a game time decision was made and we ended up here.

From the moment we walked in, we knew we made the right decision. It is a large venue with cute decorations and it smelled delicious!

We were seated at the back, and although far from the kitchen we were not forgotten. The service was spot on the entire night. The staff are friendly and attentive and made sure our needs were met. The meal started with complementary chips, salsa and guac served with individual bowls for all those double dippers out there!!!! They also provide extra hot sauce on the side to make the perfect combination as you see fit!!! Only downside was that we ate too much before the main dishes arrived.

While some were on a detox from the previous night those that got the margaritas enjoyed them and even got seconds!

The menu is robust offering a wide variety of Mexican classics ranging from 15-20 dollars.

I ordered the half veggie half chicken fajitas and when they say the plates are hot…. They're definitely hot!!! The chicken was tender and tasty and the add ins were fresh!

A fan favorite around the table was the Marco Polo taco!!

It was a pleasant experience and I'm looking forward to coming back soon.

  2. I came here after hearing good things from one of my mother's friends. It's a struggle for me to find good Mexican food but this is probably the best I've had in a long time.

The location is super convenient; the restaurant is steps away from the Larchmont Metro North station and within reach to the main commercial hub of the town. The decor was typical of a Mexican restaurant – it was a little over the top but I loved it; I kind of felt like I was dining in the Mexico pavilion at Epcot in Disney World (it's a good thing, in the words of Martha Stewart ;-). A nice feature in the dining room was that the wall facing the street was all glass doors which were opened up to create an open feeling to the restaurant. There are more tables in the back as well as a bar; the place is fairly large.

The obligatory chips and salsa were some of the better ones I've tasted- the chips were warm and each member of our party had their own individual dipping bowl – a nice touch. The menu had a nice variety of stuff without being too overwhelming. I went with the turkey club tacos which included turkey, avocado, and bacon. The tacos were served in a soft shell (yes!) and came with rice, beans, and a slaw on the side. I was really impressed – everything was full of flavor and the turkey club aspect of the tacos made them interesting (in addition to being tasty).

Service was good – our waitress was friendly and we were always offered refills on drinks and chips. The price was also great, much lower than expected. I would definitely come back here – so glad I found a good Mexican place within arms reach.

  3. One of the best Mexican food restaurants in Westchester NY. I've been to a couple in nyc and by far this one is amongst the better ones. The food is good, the service is wonderful, and the drinks are great! I was craving particularly Mexican food and mojitos. I let the waitress know I was very interested in a mojito with a coconut spin but gracefully she told me she didn't make great ones which saved me the disappointment. I was appreciative of her honesty. They offered us classic margaritas for a happy hour deal everything else was full price. I opted for the white sangria which was a great choice because it satisfied my beverage craving. It had a hint of peach and came in a huge glass with plenty ice to make it refreshing.

I ordered the Enchiladas Sonoma. This meal consisted of chicken, spinach, cheese , sided with a Mexican cole slaw and yellow tender rice. It was filling and flavorful. It was an excellent meal made with a delicate seasoning which did not overpower any of the tastes. My friends and I were easily distracted with the sight and taste of our food so much that we never said a word , only mumbling and nodding of how great each bite seemed to be.
The service was good. We had multiple people check in on us and taking drink orders which we appreciated. I would love to return here.

  4. This was my first time here at Rio Bravo. Me and my friends came here to celebrate a birthday and cinco de mayo. We were a party of 7 and they seated us quickly which is a plus! It's very spacious and beautiful inside. There is a huge bar in the back. The service was great! I absolutely loved the guacamole which is made fresh. Also I highly recommend the Gringo tacos on a soft shell which, were amazing as well. They serve the tacos with rice and beans on the side which were great! For dessert I had the fried ice cream. I never tried fried ice cream before but it was delicious! They were playing music and the bar was getting crowded as time went on which is fun! There is available street parking in the front and a parking lot around the corner. I highly recommend this restaurant.
