“Try the formula 40 protein shake and if you make it in time before breakfast (before 12), try the sweet potato pancakes or the wakeup call.”
“Apart from being a bit heavy handed with the brown rice, I don't doubt that it was both healthy as well as hearty.”

Finally a real deal on smoothies n not some high calorie sugary drink infused with artificial fruit flavors. They promote healthy eating n I am heavily in to it. Located just in front of my gym, I love their smoothies, juices and wraps. N if u r a regular at this place, u also stand a chance to get ur 10th drink or wrap free!!
Working in Forest Hills is so bittersweet. There are so many food options, but most of them will give you high cholesterol and excess belly fat. Being that I have a wedding dress to fit into in about 6 months, I'm thankful to have a place like Ripe across the street.
I used to have a similar restaurant called Freshark by my old workplace that I used to give all my money to but Ripe has like triple the menu. There are so many great wraps, it'll take me forever to try them all. Last week I had the protein garden wrap which is brown rice, black beans, avocado, peppers and teriyaki sauce. YUM. It was huge (can very easily be split for 2 meals) for a little under $9. The one thing I'd say is friendliness goes a long way and I didn't see any smiling faces.
Either way, can't wait to try the smoothies!
The food at Ripe is OK and I appreciate a healthy option, but the fact that they do not have a restroom open to the public–they evade doing this by having, like, one fewer chair than required to have such by the NYC Department of Health–really bothers me. There's something not right about that.
Long story short – healthy food is pricey. My mother (super health freak) wanted to go out for brunch but refused to go to any other Forest Hills brunch place I had taken her to in the past because she claims she still still working off holiday weight. We settled on Ripe Juice Bar and Grill because I heard they have tons of healthy food options. I myself had only had a smoothie here before.
We sat down and ordered two breakfast items – my mom got the sweet potato pancakes with turkey bacon and egg whites. I got the veggie omelette with a side salad. We then split a juice. It was for sure the healthiest brunch I ever had and the food was quite tasty, but it was also pricey. When you think about the cost of the food used, it was concerning how much I was dropping for a healthy meal. My mom actually really liked my omelette and did not really care for her sweet potato pancakes. I liked them a lot. At the end of the day, our meal came close to $30 because the juice cost about $6. Great little place for a quick bite but I would much rather have some chicken and waffles if I am going out for brunch on the weekend. Otherwise, great juice bar. Everything is freshly squeezed and never disappoints.
Love coming here. It's a health junkies paradise. The food ranges from soup, protein salads, protein wraps and protein smoothies . Key word: PROTEIN. But regardless, the food here is A++. The wait staff is very attentive and patient. You can add your own ingredients when making a smoothie. I like the flexibility. The wraps and salads are very filling, especially if you just had a monster workout from nearby NYSC. One of my few go to spots on Austin st.
I recently revisited Ripe after a long hiatus. Admittedly, I've been slacking when it comes to my health over the past year and I've packed on more pounds than I'd like to prove it. So, in the spirit of retaking control of my health and beginning to make healthier choices, I decided that ordering dinner from Ripe as opposed to Chinese food or pizza would be a good first step.
I ordered the glazed salmon bowl, and it was both delicious and satisfying. Apart from being a bit heavy handed with the brown rice, I don't doubt that it was both healthy as well as hearty. I even ordered a Hulk juice for breakfast the next morning, and it was delicious! My main gripe about Ripe in the past was that I found their side dish options to be lacking. Black beans? Sweet potato? I get it, but think that they would really benefit by offering a small side salad as an additional option, and I think their customers would enjoy it.
Their drinks are beyond delicious! it's very healthy and fresh too. Although it's a bit pricey but they use fresh ingredients. You get what you pay for sort of deal. Some of my favorites are the Super 6, Autumn Summers, and the Santa Fe Steak Wrap.
The smoothie I tried from here was called the Austin street. It was really good and tasted like raz ma tazz from Jamba Juice but better. It is a bit pricey for almost six bucks for a small.
