Lapin and I usually visit this drugstore before we go to the movies as they usually have a good selection and sales. The store is usually a bit disorganized with boxes all over. The employees can be a bit rude or non responsive and the lines can be slow…but cheap snack prices, tho is the only reason I come back.
I was standing in front of the Amazon Locker near the entrance, as I was searching for my pickup code (which never came — shame on you, Amazon and Lasership). The guy delivering pallets told me, "you shouldn't stand there." He then told me snidely, "we're delivering pallets." You could ask politely instead of lecturing me.
They had palettes stacked up by the entrance, blocking access to the Amazon Locker. They also stacked up boxes in one of the aisles, again impeding browsing.
Given that Lasership doesn't allow you to pick up your packages, the locker at his Rite-Aid is useless.
Called early (6am) trying to source an important part for medical equipment for a friend. The first gent that answered claimed to be the only one working and that there was nobody on the floor so he could look. I asked him if he could put me on hold to check. Two seconds later a different employee picked up the phone, proving the first man to be a liar along with unhelpful. I only have two stars because the second guy was courteous and quick to help. The staff need to learn how to put calls on hold properly also, I didn't really care to hear about their after work plans of whether to go gaming with friends or not..
This particular Rite Aid has recently gone through renovations, so it's one of the only Drugstores in the neighborhood, that is up to par with the rest of the city.
I really enjoy the well-lit space and the neat, well-organized aisles. They have the typical drugstore cosmetics brands, but they also carry the popular French line, La Roche Posay, which has done wonders to my skin. I highly recommend this brand to anyone and everyone.
They also have a set of Amazon Prime lockers right at the entrance.
Staff including cashiers are unhelpful and oblivious to the news of recent ongoing phone scams by GreenDot Money Pak. It was here that I became a victim. They do not post warning alerts by the New York Police Dept. nor from the real IRS.
The only positive of this Rite Aid location is that it operates 24/7 @ 365. Ironically, their competitor CVS lies adjacent visibly across the street.
Three things always come to mind when I think of this Rite Aid:
1 – Well, at least it's clean(ish).
2- But they're always understocked (I usually have to head over to CVS down the street to complete my shopping list).
3 – And great googaly moogaly are they understaffed (I've never been here and waited less than 10 minutes in line to check out due to never having seen more then two cashiers at the registers…and that fluke was only because we'd been in line for 20 minutes before the manager hopped on to a register)!
But the pharmacy peops are really cool and efficient. They went out of their way to find me an affordable alternative to my costly prescription and filled the order quickly. The woman at drop-off counter saw how much pain I was in and made sure I knew that there was seating available in case I needed to rest while my prescription was being filled. If the entire store could be run like the pharmacy, this would be a stellar shopping option.
Nice place to come in from the cold but the prices are spectacularly high & it's not the nicest one I've been in. They are also open 24 hours.
