  1. It never fails.  Every time I have to come here for a prescription refill or anything having to do with the actual pharmacy, I ALWAYS run into a problem. It is not isolated at this location, alone. It seems as though there is a curse on ALL Rite Aid pharmacies.  The staff mean well and they try but I don't feel they try hard enough, considering that their patrons rely on them for life-saving , maintenance medications.

The staff is always pleasant but unfortunately, the most helpful pharmacist, Eric, is no longer working there and he always made sure that I was taken care of. Not special treatment, just customer service. Please bring him back.

  2. I love this Rite Aid.  First off, it gets one star better than my local two star Rite Aid on 145th.  I mean, that place never restocks and is crowded.

It gets another star for the 24 hour pharmacy.  Sometimes they're slow and sometimes they are rude, but I went there to get a vicodin prescription filled after I had my wisdom teeth pulled out and I asked the lady who took my prescription if she could please fill it before the Novocaine wore off (albeit goofily and with the lisp of someone who was numb in the tongue [salsa shoes = thaltha thews.  Kept my husband laughing for hours]).  She smiled at me and five minutes later, I had my sweet, sweet drugs.

  3. I give this place 2 stars because they're way better than the Duane Reade across the street. The staff is nice-ish, most of the time. My biggest complaint is that they advertise all these beer specials, but rarely ever actually have the beer. I mean not a single case… not even a space on the rack where that particular beer used to be. Honestly I think they put the signs up showing the sale prices but never actually get that beer in stock. Probably 1 out of every 10 times I go do they have the beer advertised in their flyer. The sad part is, the choices for reasonably priced beer are very slim in the neighborhood so we keep going back. Also, I was really pissed a couple weeks ago when the had a big sale on ice cream and a broken freezer. That being said, I would shop here a thousand times before I'd ever step foot in the Duane Reade on 111th again.

  4. Okay…

    Perks about this Rite-Aid
    – The pharmacy is so quick.  I had my prescription sent only 30 minutes before and they made no hesitation to get my insurance card info, medication, signature and all in a span of 10 minutes.
    – They have a wide array of things on sale.
    – They're open 24 hours.

    Cons about this Rite-Aid
    – Staff doesn't make too much of an effort to be nice, but I'm one of the shoppers who likes to be on their own anyway.
    – Line does get long (yes, as Danny F. said, minimum 10 minute wait).
    – Kind of small, the duane reade across the street is 2 floors.

Do the cons outweigh the perks?  Not really, the 24 hour thing makes me very appreciative of living in New York City, because even if there's a wait, I can still get what I need at any time of day.  The pharmacy is also nice and quick, which makes it worthwhile.
