Welcome to the planet YUCK! This is the worst pharmacy I've ever been to, and it's no surprise that Rite Aid is rapidly losing market share to CVS. Got yelled at by the pharmacist for supposedly having the wrong insurance card, even though my prescription drug plan isn't separate from my regular card. The photo machine, meanwhile, is like from the 1990s — it's running Windows XP!!!! Everything is dirty. It's not the worth the convenience, even, of being right next to work. A-V-O-I-D spells AVOID.
The pharmacy here is really frustrating. I've been here twice trying to fill one script, the first time was unsuccessful because they did not know how to process my insurance while the second time they could not punch in the numbers to my health savings credit card. I wasted almost 1 hour each time here with no success. I went to Ray's Pharmacy across the street- all my problems solved. Go there instead if you need to get a prescription filled. In regards to the general store, there's a pretty good selection of items that you need. There's always a long line but it moves fairly quickly.
This rite aid sucks. Unfortunately I have to get my prescriptions from here. Get ready to wait forever for your meds or in line to buy something. I don't understand how long it takes to check someone out. Plus they don't have diet dr pepper and this Texas girl needs her fix lol
I've been here many times over the past five years, as it's close to my Washington Heights office. It used to be dingy and the only somewhat decent option in the area. Suddenly, after not going there for a good year, I walked in to a spiffy and renovated Rite Aid! It's akin to the "old" Duane Reades vs. the "new" Duane Reades; the old ones are extremely antiquated but the new ones just make your mundane tasks of buying hair dye, deodorant, and iced tea a little more joyful! Glad to see this particular Rite Aid got one of those "Duane Reade" face lifts. Haha! The aisles are cleaner and more streamlined, with a renovated pharmacy section on the second tier. The refrigerated food and drink sections glow slickly at the end of the store, with even more options than I've never seen. (Angry Orchard? Chia Pods? Gentrification continues to grasp onto Washington Heights!)
Still, for the life of me, I have never been able to comprehend the incredibly long line at this particular Rite Aid, even with three or four cashiers going at full speed. It defies logic, truly.
I've begun to take back my props for this Rite Aid's Pharmacy.
The peops are still nice. But the last three times I've called in a refill I've shown up later that day to be told that they're out of stock!
This isn't super special medication, y'all. Anyone who regularly refills meds expects their pharmacy to be out of stock from time to time.
But it has become a regular occurrence at this location. That's pretty unexceptable, especially since they won't let you refill your meds until a few days before they're scheduled to run out.
This review is looong overdue. I have come to this Rite Aid quite a few times during the last few months and for the most part, it has had everything that I needed.
I echo everyone's sentiments in saying that the lines are a bit long, especially when there are three cashiers on the register. But for me, it is understandable; it is a 24 hour rite aid in the middle of a neighborhood that does not have pharmacies for a couple of miles. You're not going to find a Duane Reade or CVS where we live, and a lot of the times, the supermarkets are not open. So Rite Aid is the most rational choice for a neighborhood of thousands of people, including a bunch of medical students who have the weirdest sleep schedules and who can be found getting a box of corn flakes and peanut brittle at 4:24 in the morning.
The service could be better, but because of my limited options, I am not going to stop coming here. What remedies the poor service is that I can walk into Rite Aid at 3:00 in the morning for some Ice Cream, and that always makes me feel better 🙂
