Avoid at all costs. There are always a bunch of people behind the register "pretending" to be busy "counting" money. ????? This is supposed to be a somewhat reputable chain store — get your act together!!!
What the hell is up with the lines at this place. I needed some snacks quick. Finding them was extremely easy; paying for them was painful. I suppose if I am ever in need for some Drake's Cakes in downtown Newark I will look elsewhere. Something tells me it is a one time event though.
Things have improved at this Rite Aid location. My previous review was back from 2009; much has changed since. The customer service is way better. The cashiers and sales associates are much friendlier and willing to help more.
The store is well stocked and maintained (neater and cleaner). The store also increased its food market selections, which is great for local residents and dorming students in the area. The beauty aisles have lots of selections, too.
A big improvement at this Rite Aid location is how the lines are managed now. There is an area with one line up queue, where available cashiers call the customers forward for the next person up. No more line cutting, arguments between customers, and subsequent close-call fights.
Lastly, the pharmacy is great (but it's always been really good though, as noted this in my 2009 review). The staff are really helpful – in person and over the phone. Prescriptions are filled quickly. It's always a breeze going to the pharmacy here.
