Decent Thai place that offers free delivery.
Have tried a variety of items here, and I would recommend sticking to the rice and noodle dishes.
The curry was way too thin/soupy. The other entrees (i.e. basil, ginger, etc.) were also just so so.
The positive is that they delivery pretty promptly, which is always a huge plus when hunger strikes.
Very small seating area, more of a take out location than a destination to sit and dine.
Their Duck Noodle is amazing. Spicy Beef Noodle can also be very good but is uneven, depending on who is in the kitchen- sometimes spot on and melt in your mouth, sometimes covered in a layer of red pepper that makes it almost inedible. They thoughtfully package the thai ice tea with a protective x of tape to prevent spillage.
Ordered Green curry, Red curry and a basil veggie for delivery..the curries were great, the basil veggies kinda "blah". Delivery was quick and efficient. I'd order from here again
Good food and value! The lunch special is a steal. I got Tom Yum (the usual) and Basil Fried Rice with chicken. Yumm! It was a bit spicy and I loved it. I got an order of Steamed Chicken and Shrimp dumplings. Again, it was amazing! I'm halfway with my food and I'm already stuffed. I could definitely say this was a good bargain.
I came in here to place a to-go order with a friend one Saturday. The place was empty except for one table, which is fine. We placed our orders, waited for our food, paid and left.
Once we got back to my house to eat I was a little disappointed.
First, let me say that the chicken and shrimp dumplings were good, and the spring rolls were delicious. I was very pleased with those.
As for the main dish, chicken pad Thai, here's where my disappointment kicked in. I can't really explain it other than to simply say I've had better. It wasn't bad per say, but it certainly wasn't good. Maybe it's because I've only ever had Thai in Manhattan? Either way this was less than what I was used to. I may/may not order from here again.
I like that they deliver though, since there aren't a lot of Thai restaurants that deliver by me.
River Thai is home to my favorite thai noodle dish to date: Spicy Noodle [flat noodle with egg, bell pepper, white onion, tomato in chili-basil sauce]
Add your favorite meat/tofu for maximum good times.
For desert I tried the fried banana with strawberry sauce. This desert is trouble. My intention was to only eat one piece, but I ended up devouring all 4 pieces. I regret nothing!
Other notes:
– Delivery to Fort Lee takes about 45 minutes.
– $15 credit card minimum for everything — delivery and in-store payment.
– Restaurant itself is small and more designed for take out than dining in. However, the seating space is cozy and inviting enough to enjoyably have a quick sit-down meal.
– Parking: gooooood luck!
Came here for the first time last night with my bf who is a regular. It was awesome! We both got his favorite, spicy noodles with beef which everyone on yelp seems to rave about. And let me tell you! They were amazing. $10 for a very generous portion is an amazing value. The flavor was intense and delish. The dish wasn't too spicy…just enough. The lovely waitress brought over spicy Thai chili sauce if you desire an extra kick. There are about three nice sized tables to eat inside but there were so many people taking out. Loved this place and will be def coming back!
Food is good, delivery service not so much. I usually order their drunken noodle (mild with beef), Thai iced tea, fried strawberry bananas, and a bowl of rice. Everything is delicious and fairly priced, but I give this place 3.5/4 stars, out of 5, for their shitty delivery service. I ordered food and missed a call, I called them back but they didn't pick up – figured it was some random telemarketer or someone from work. Next thing I know, delivery dude is banging (literally banging) on my front door with an unnecessary amount of force. When I apologized to him that I didn't know it was him who had called (they usually have to enter in a gate number to get in, but somehow he got past it) he gave me the biggest attitude and stormed off. Customer service is key for me. Yes, it was my fault for missing your call, but you could be nicer about it, or a little less rude. Bumpin' you down a star.
