Really nice vibe here. The owner is so accommodating. Asks your name, introduced himself. The sautéed kale was on point. The chicken perfect. Cute cafe atmosphere. I ordered wrong coffee drink and the owner made it yo my liking. A definite plus to the neighborhood. Wish there were more tables.
Roast n Co has a solid menu for this neighborhood, and many healthy options for the too-lazy-to-cook but still want a quick and healthy dinner diner.
We came after a long day in the city hitting the gym and socializing at the MET, by the time we got back to the neighborhood we were wiped out. Our ambitions to stay healthy and not eat pizza were challenged by our starvation and laziness.
Roast n Co came to our rescue with well made Cobb Salad and Half Rotisserie Chicken plates with a side of kale and sweet potato. And, it was a walk away and affordable.
Perfect for ordering in for a weekday and a quick night out without waiting out the crowds.
The service was excellent and the Chicken is juicy and well made and bursting with flavor. The staff treated us well and the kitchen has been open for exactly two months the night we came. If they keep this quality up it will definitely be a new neighborhood favorite.
I want to come back to check out all the French Pastry and Brunch options for a quick Meetup with friends and family.
Wow. Wow is all I can start off this review with. I go to the New York Sports Club gym right across the street on the other side of Queens Blvd and one of our trainers recommended we come check this place out. A buddy of mine and I after our workout came here in the afternoon to have a little post workout meal, and my god were we blown away.
My buddy ordered the half rotisserie chicken (for $10, comes with two sides) and I got the chicken panini ($8, comes with one side). We were both blown away by how excellent the food was. Usually most places that sell rotisserie chicken in the area half ass it and it's just missing that "one thing" to make the meal complete- but roast n co got their chicken down to perfection. Best believe I will be coming here much more frequently and eating from here.
Oh and they deliver too? As if I already wasn't sold on them before. You'd be doing yourself an injustice if you don't try their food at least once.
This is a review for takeout.
They deserve a full 5 start review. Delivering a rotisserie chicken that is not the least bit dry and fries that are crispy is not easy. Can't wait to go in and try.
Pleasantly surprised by how good everything was
– Rotisserie Chicken
The chicken was amazingly moist and flavorful.
– French Fries
Remember this was delivery. Fries normally are soggy but not these! They had a great crisp to them and they were perfectly salted.
– Rice Pilaf
Lemony and very tasty
– Lemon Chicken Soup
It was very lemony. A tad too much lemon for me but still very good and filled with lots of orzo and chunks of chicken.
I (freakin) love Roast n Co!! I could eat here every day, and wouldn't get tired of it. Want to know why?
Its absolutely healthy, inexpensive and delicious! What more can you ask for ? ? ?
Upon entering, your greeted with the smell of fresh pastries and the kind staff. They have a beautiful long wooden table by the window that makes you want to grab a coffee, open a book, and sit there for hours.
I have tried their Cobb salad, which could use some flair in exciting of flavors, but is fresh and healthy to the core. Its topped with a clean roasted chicken breast, which is exactly the kind of clean protein I look forward to after the gym. I actually love that they are located across from my gym, especially after a hard workout.
What I rather enjoy about this place is that its not rushed. They take their time preparing your food. Most of it from scratch even. They serve and clean after their customers.
My all time favorites are their salads, roasted chicken with sides (Sweet Potato is the Bomb), and pastries (which I believe come from balthazars.) They also have fresh specials daily on the board as well as promotions on pastries from time to time.
When your in Rego Park and looking for something fresh, clean and healthy to eat, look no further.
By the way, they don't skimp on portions either. Thats one things I like and respect about places I go to, they stay consistent from the start. I don't leave this place feeling hungry or dissatisfied, and I could eat, if you know what i mean ;).
Keep up the great food RnC, Ill be seeing you soon.
Thanks for joining our neighborhood!
A great new place that opened up in Rego park. The place is chic and rustic. The menu is very health centric and vast. My friends and I have dined here multiple times and the consensus has been the same: fresh food and big portions!! Last time I was there, I had the salad integrale and added eggs and chicken. They prepared it fresh and it hit the spot after a good workout at nearby NYSC. My friend opted for the Cobb salad and sweet potatoes. I had the opportunity to sample the sweet potatoes and they were amazing, freshly baked and topped with cinnamon. Before we left , we had to get some cookies because they looked great on the display stand. The manager, Manny, is a cool guy and even gave us extra cookie. I told him to keep the change and as I was walking down queens Blvd. , he chased me down and gave me the rest of the change, implying that he was happy to have us customers. Thanks manny for ur services and the place is coming along. We will be returning soon. Definitely wanna to try the squash soup and other menu items.
Roast n Co is a great fast casual place in Forest Hills. 5 stars for convenience and healthy meal options. We came after sunning ourselves in Hudson River Park, while waiting for the tennis courts, playing 1 hour of cardio-intensive game of tennis and hanging out at the Met rooftop. It was hot and we didn't want to cook, so Roast and Co was a great option.
We ordered the Cobb Salad with rotisserie chicken ($9) and Half chicken with sweet baked potatoes and sauteed kale ($11). The rotisserie chicken half had juicy dark meat with crispy roasted skin. The chicken breast was a little dry but tasty with the Cobb salad sauce. The oven roasted sweet potato was so naturally sweet and had a sprinkling of cinnamon on top. So good! The sauteed kale was tender and had flakes of garlic in it.
K's Cobb salad was satisfying and healthy. Filling too, thanks to the roasted chicken breast and the chunks of avocado.
They also have fresh baguettes and croissants from Balthazar. Yum!
Excellent service, very friendly staff and great menu options. Fresh squeezed carrot juice for $3! Yes!
I will be back.
