  1. Attended an event with MyBelly's Playlist hosting recently. Fantastic views of the city. There's an enclosed bar area and then a more open large veranda with open skies. The bartending was fantastic and very attentive with an assortment of white and sparkling wine was provided as well as a nice list of craft beers: Two Roads, Kelso, Butternuts, Sixpoint, and DownEast Cider to name a few. Great selection of beers and wine. Waiters came by with little sandwiches provided by MyBelly the food catering company, not the actual bar. Though, I believe they provided the meats, cheeses, and pickles platters and those were epic. EPIC. With real honey cloves, maple syrup, mustard, sweet and salty cheeses, prosciutto, capicola, nuts, dates, you name it. They went all out. It's a little bit fancy pants because it is on top of the Renaissance Hotel but if you want to impress someone, it's a neat spot.

Oh! And they had games and fun toys. Missing out the best part! Rock em sock em robots and a magic 8 ball that provided entertainment for me for at least a solid twenty minutes. "Will I ever be a millionaire?" "Unlikely." "Will anyone ever love me?" "Outlook not so good." Damn you magic 8 ball.

  2. Really really cool scene ! Great ambiance ! Perfect for happy hour ! Beautiful inside …food is ok , nachos and wings and some drinks and you will be set..
Outside roof top bar and retractable roof very very cool !
Check it out if your staying at the hotel or just want a drink !

  3. Pro: Doesn't get so packed you can't get in. Check this place out when all the other rooftops are packed during the week.

    Con: A lot of suits.

Honestly, when all the rooftop bars in NYC get packed, this is a good place to come as an alternative. You don't get the gorgeous views like Mr. Purple, Spyglass, Refinery Hotel and 235th provide but you do get a large space. The food isn't bad and it's reasonably priced. All and all this is a good place to chill.

  4. I work close by and a few of my co-workers and I stopped by on Thursday before Memorial Day weekend. The place was PACKED at 6PM. Luckily, we reserved a table so we were quickly seated. The place was roaring, you could barely hear yourself speak. It's definitely an after-work crowd, but still extremely casual and laid-back. The cocktails were fabulous, but a little on the pricey side. The food was surprisingly delicious as well. We ordered a spinach and mushroom flatbread and some fries. I was pleased and ready to order something else, but didn't want to seem greedy among by colleagues. The service was a little slow, but that is to be expected for the size of this place. Don't expect a rooftop with a view. You won't see anything but Penn Station and the backside of Macy's. I dig it. It's a cool, new neighborhood gem.

  5. Super cool bar with indoor and outdoor areas.  It is located in the new Renaissance Mid-town.  They have live entertainment some nights.  Fun atmosphere, you wouldn't think you were in a hotel.  Bar menu.  Great, friendly service.  Enjoy!

  6. i came here with some old co workers and was pleasantly surprised. i was expecting your standard midtown hotel rooftop- small, crowded, not enough bartenders and not enough seats. but once the renaissance elevator dropped me at the 5th floor i was very surprised! the space here is huge! there's essentially a full sized covered restaurant, with a huge bar and then a very large outdoor patio/ deck space with tons of tables. there was also a nice amount of space being used for private groups.

we had a table outside on the deck and had a very attentive server the entire time we were there. this place was packed during the happy hour timeframe and our waitress did a great job of coming to check on us regularly. we had a few different bites to eat, some of the highlights were the oysters along with the irish potato chip nachos (skip the wings, very mediocre for the price)! i also suggest trying one of their cocktails as these were mixed quite nicely.

  7. Have not had the food so cannot give five stars yet but service, decor and general vibe are all great.  I described the place to someone else and they stated it sounded like an outdoor man cave and think that is good description. Not getting a great view but it is huge space with nice terrace and roof retracts to cover if rain comes.  Plenty of leather seating and two bars with enough tvs. Prices are not outrageous as normal upscale nyc prices.  Most outer part of terrace great for larger parties or birthday parties with ten friends. No
Loud music making it hard to talk.

  8. I was surprised by this place! A hotel rooftop bar on 35th street that's packed with locals and NOT tourists? It is indeed possible!

Rock and Reilly's is huge. Massive. Two floors! For a Wednesday at 7pm the whole space was packed. They even have a rooftop deck overlooking downtown. Bartenders are great, menu has a nice selection, it's a great hidden gem in midtown.
