Cute space. Had the burger and it was pretty good. Would like to try for brunch. Definitely make a reservation
The moment i stepped in, things got really weird. like really weird – even awkward.
Beautiful night. I believe it was friday night – i walk in, the first thing bartender asked me was, " and youre not supposed to be here right?" or something to that extent. ….and immediately i was thrown off guard – do you not want me here? ordered a beer, chugged and waited for my friend to arrive.
friend arrives. we decide to sit in their cute little backyard area. Aforementioned, beautiful night. we both order burgers – i ordered a delicious real burger, and she ordered a veggie burger. both were satisfying , the server seemed annoyed by us. I think im figuring out the attitude of this place.
ugh.
Only stopped in for a quick drink while I was killing time, but it's a pretty cool space and wouldn't mind checking it out again. Walked by so many times and never went in, despite that the building and its sign always intrigued me.
The place is gigantic and has so much room. It has a very cool vibe, sort of nice but casual and laid back. Sat at the bar, which itself is pretty impressive. I didn't much like the hibiscus iced tea that I had (too watered down). But I got a glimpse of some of the food that came out and it looked pretty good. Seems like a cool place to stop in for a relaxing lunch.
We were invited to a Birthday party at Roebling Tea room last week. I had never been so I looked up the space prior to attending. The reviews and pictures do not disappoint.
Firstly it is a huge space, including a decent sized outdoor space. The decor is modern, rustic and dim (perfect for a bar/modern day eats setting).
I loved that the bar was not crowded at all, even with there being so many people. There was still space to catch the bartenders attention. The birthday party had rented out the backroom. Cool space, could fit about 30 people give or take.
Unfortunately we did not order any food just drinks. So this review is just on the service/space and drinks order. We ordered a few of the NOUVELLE VAGUE, JASZEK'S LAST WORD & FINE, GIRL.
Each of those individually were absolutely perfect. They don't short on the alcohol to non alcohol ratio. They fill it up nicely, and don't pack it to the brim with ice. It was also really impressive how fast they whipped them up. The bartenders were friendly, funny and helpful with deciding what drinks to order.
At first I thought the prices may be higher than average, but they're actually quite on point for what they are serving. I would love to come back and try the food and when that happens I'll update the review to include both. The pictures do look phenomenal.
I love this place!
The ricotta and fig paste is an absolute killer. I must have had it all three times I went there for brunch.
The restaurant itself is located in a trendy area of Brooklyn. The outside does not look like a brunch place at all, but once inside the place is perfect.
A must try, whether you are on vaca or living permanently in NY!
I had a great dinner here! The place is huge, with a dreamy, candle lit ambiance and service was spot on.
The salmon tartare was really great; I wasn't sure what to expect with the pomegranate and apple (I have a problem with fruit, clearly), but it ended up working well. The avocado toasts and mushroom toasts are also delicious. My favorite appetizer were the blowfish tails. I've never had blowfish before and I really enjoyed it. They have a mild flavor, and the light sauce they came in was good enough to sop up with our leftover bread.
For my entree I ordered the raviolo in brodo. Raviolo is just one giant ravioli, and this one was full of mushroom and ricotta. Very nice. The tagliatelle with braised duck, as well as the pappardelle with mushroom special were also delicious.
Perfect for a girl's brunch on a Saturday morning. Service was fine, the waiters did not give looks as I waited 20 minutes for my dining companion to arrive. After spending those 20 minutes flipping through every single Yelp photo, I decided to order the Dutch Pancake, $13.
I was trying to be adventurous and getting something out the ordinary brunch options, but the pancake was a bit disappointing. Crispy edges and sweet apples, but the middle was soggy and mediocre. It's also a huge pancake, and you get tired of the taste after awhile. I'd recommended sharing with the table if you want to try it.
The rest of the brunch options looked typical and less interesting. Would like to come back to grab drinks in the evening one day after work.
Meh… I wouldn't say it was amazing but it wasn't the worst either… If I could I would give it 3 1/2. The service was great, and the location is a stable of the neighborhood. Parking was easy to find, and we were seated right away… The food though… Lacked yumminess. The beets and eggs with crunchy potatoes was underwhelming. The potatoes were not crunchy because they were under the fried egg along with the beets which actually made them pink and soggy. The salmon from the salmon plater was good, however the way it was cut was a little awkward. The apple pancake was good, nothing crazy…but good. The whipped cream came as just cream because it was melted under the heating lamps from sitting in the kitchen.
I don't know if I would go back….:/
