Mad slow. I heard someone say something about pancakes and I assumed my order was done. Whole time they had just started making them 15 minutes after I placed the order. Shouldn't take you 15 minutes to make pancakes when this place isn't even booming. I was the only person in line. Come on now, this place is not that busy. The pancakes were nothing fancy and the kale, apple, orange juice was okay. Almost $6 for the juice. Two stars for cheap pancakes ($7 for one massive cake which should've been labeled as pancake) with fresh fruit.
Okay, this cafe is pretty nice. It is very spacious. It looks like a great place to get some work done too.
However, the food was lacking.
Hot Apple Cider – very good. It had a cinnamon stick in it. But it was scalding hot. I even took the lid off the cup and let it sit on the table for about 15 minutes and still burned my tongue. When it finally cooled down, I did enjoy it.
Key Lime Cheesecake – so dense. The plastic spoon could barely cut through it. I'm not a fan of anything dense and definitely not a fan of dense cheesecake.
I'm sure their other options are good as their menu is very large. Actually their menu is a bit too large and overwhelming for me – sandwiches, crepes, pastries, gelato
Apparently you can make a reservation here. I don't know why anyone would need to or want to though.
Party of two came to this coffee lounge for a cool down from wandering Brooklyn's DUMBO vicinity. Oddly there are booths like a diner restaurant, but no lounge or cushion chairs resembling a very casual bar setting. Roomr hones a nice casual clean and simple setting of a Brooklyn flair with large oversize wall vintage photo sticker posters of the building and construction of Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges. Staff is very accommodating to us as upon entering the background music was playing "Hey Ya" by Outkast whom my friend was dancing solo to the musical flow. Background music is very stimulating as Rihanna, Michael Jackson and Duran Duran were played. Staff is attentive as our waiter noted where I can attain some power for my mobile phone with their hidden and very discreet electrical outlet. A Yelp mobile check-in offer of one free single scoop of Gelatowas used in my favor. One Red Zinfandel glass $8.00 was very diluted with water while my friend engulfed one bottle of local Brooklyn root beer. Salads and sandwiches are their menu for light meals and savory crepes for the in-between meal time. I would surely return for their crepes, Belgian Waffles and salads as the Cobb salad is very appealing to my appetite.
Note: You must request a sales receipt as the WiFi password (case sensitive) and bathroom code are written for access. The WiFi signal is strong and stable. One single unisex restroom facility is clean and ample space. When requesting my sales receipt I was given the wrong bill as the item ordered is not what my party of two consumed.
