This is my go to spot for pizza while waiting for a train, especially after a long night of drinking. Rosa's is always the best pizza in Penn and still busy at 3:00am
The pizza here is good but the service is the issue. My favorite slice used to be the Margherita slice. In fact, it became something to look forward to taking with me on my long commute back home. However, I will no longer be wasting my time coming back. The staff is ridiculously rude for no reason . Last week I asked the guy to toast my slice (okay I could have used a better word I know haha) but then I clarified I wanted him to warm the slice up for me. Because guess what..I like warm pizza and that should not be an issue.
So this employee literally started mumbling words under his breath and seemed super annoyed. He then proceeded to talk to his coworker's about me and began laughing. He even told the cashier that I asked him to toast it and they proceeded to laugh as if I wasn't standing right there. It got to the point where I asked them to please stop because it's rude and I am hearing everything they are saying. The cashier saw that I was getting upset and completely stopped. I paid for my slice and left. This place is terrible in service. I'm sorry that employees are not happy with their jobs. But that does not give them a right to treat people badly. If Yelp allowed me to, I would give zero stars to this place. Never again will I waste money on a place that doesn't value its customers. Management step it up or you are going to lose a lot of customers.
Came here for some "New York" pizza but sadly wasn't too impressed. They didn't even offer pizza slices that had both veggie and non-veggie items. It was either one or the other. Also not sure if it's a New York thing but they don't serve tap water/water from the soda fountain and instead want to charge with a bottled water. I know this is the norm in Europe but didn't expect it to be here in New York as well.
They ran out of the pepperoni slices at 7pm and they just added some pepperoni slices on a cheese pizza. It was kind of pricey and I was expecting cheap pizza. I tried some meat lover pizza and it was super salty.
Overall impressions were just mediocre and nothing stood out for me here. Won't be returning here for any pizza cravings. Hopefully other places will be better.
This underground pizza joint deserves a good review based on the variety of pizza, size of the beers and number of televisions!
Staff isn't the friendliest, with the exception of the very nice beer staff!!
I went with a chicken roll, as I usually do with a pizza place as its benchmark. Good size and good amount of chicken but the taste was mediocre. Taste like it's been sitting around in a train station…..lol. Honestly wasn't bad and I would do it again if I found myself here again.
Plenty of chairs and the bathrooms were satisfactory. I'll do it again, I recommend to those looking for a decent slice while below street level. Feel like a Ninja Turtle!
Yuck yuck yuck. How people are giving this place 4 and 5 stars especially in NEW YORK CITY where pizza is supposed to be delicious is surprising. The way they handle the pizza is so gross and unsanitary. They stack pizza trays with pizza on top of another tray so there's pizza everywhere all over the place. I could get past that if the pizza was good, unfortunately its as gross as it looks. The cheese is so thick and gross and the toppings taste old. I got a chicken and broccoli slice and the chicken was so old and hard I felt like it was slicing my throat on the way down – that's not what I meant when I said I wanted a slice of pizza. The cheese slice had a gross taste to it and the crust was so flimsy and burnt. I paid 8.50$ for two slices of pizza – for the first time, I almost wish I went to the McDonalds across the hall.
I didn't know pizza until the mister brought me here. The mister used to work in the city, so he would have to pass through Penn Station to get to work and make his pit stop for his pizza fix. So now when we go to New York and we're on the way to the city, this is our must go to spot. I love it here because the pizza slices are so big and they are just the right amount of cheesy with the best sauce EVER! Oh, do I dream of pizza….
They're so fast and it's cheap too! I wish there were more pizza places like this in California. Good thing we have bicoastal homes, so we get it once in a while when we're back in NY. If I lived in New York, I would probably gain so much weight from eating all those pizza slices!
THE BEST PIZZA I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. Really, enough said. Penn Station is pretty disgusting, and nobody wants to eat here but you must give an expection to this place. Their service is quick, their garlic knots are bomb. Their location is perfect spot too, they probably make bank. Rosa's doesn't deserve less than 10 stars, but 5 is all I can go.
I came here for pizza while waiting for my train. I got two margherita slices and it was so good! The service was so good. The men are a little flirty though but they made me laugh. They made my crazy day funny as hell which I needed. The prices are little high. However, it was well worth it. I recommend it!
