“We also had prosciutto that melted in your mouth, and fresh warm mozzarella that was lightly salted and kissed by olive oil.”
“We also split the orecchiette, truffle focaccia, and a salad with various veggies and nuts.”

Came here for happy hour. Place is a bit posh, a mirror to the neighborhood. Fashionable young staff patrol the pretty perimeter offering spirits and victuals.
If you like to amble by the bar, room is scarce, but they do have stand-up room at a few high tables between the bar and restaurant area. I would have preferred to be sitting down, but even the bar seats had claim on them and would have to be given up. Hot place, I guess, but not particularly relaxing.
It definitely filled up quickly with after-work squads, though, so I get it. The crowd was a mix of upper-middle class professionals from the neighborhood and the bros and gals aspiring to the same…lots of blonde hair…rather homogeneous for my taste.
Happy hour prices are not particularly generous, but they do include a couple of their house cocktails. We stuck with the wine mostly. For food, we got the salumi/cheese mix. They were generous on the focaccia bread, but not the cold cuts, and the meats and cheeses were just OK, nothing special.
I hear brunch is good here, so I'd recommend heading here for that, or just a time other than happy hour on Friday night. It's definitely a scene, and there are some pretty spaces upstairs if you can manage it.
Great spot for a brunch or a a glass of wine and some appetizers. They have some high top tables in the back that would be ideal if you are just getting drinks.
The restaurant is full of natural light and decorated very nicely. There is a rooftop garden that was closed when i was there. Can't wait to go back and see what that is all about
Although slightly crowded, our party of 4 was seated right away and the service was very prompt and reliable. Nice place to start on a relaxing Saturday.
This place was on my list for a very long time and I was so excited to finally try it out. The best part about Rosemary's is by far the location and the atmosphere. The overall layout and decor of this place is perfection. Whoever designed it is a genius. It's cozy and welcoming, but also modern and trendy. It's definitely a hoppin place in the West Village, very packed for a Thursday night and our wait was 20-30 minutes.
Now, aside from the flawless ambiance, the rest of the experience was pretty mediocre. Our waitress was extremely awkward, not helpful, and had an attitude. She honestly made us a little uncomfortable and we felt like she didn't want to be there(maybe she was having a rough night I don't know). Just not a positive presence from her.
I also thought that the food was just…ok. We ordered the truffle focaccia to share and my friend got a pasta bowl and I got the "special" salad for the night. The focaccia was good I guess if you like eating bread and oil which I don't really care for. But, I was mostly disappointed by my salad. I completely forget what was on it but it was just so bland and basic. For the "special" salad I was expecting a lot more. This is the kind of salad I make when I'm out of groceries and starving and have to throw together whatever is lying around in the fridge.
I don't know, I don't want to rip on this place too hard because maybe I have to go back and try it again. Just wasn't blown away by the food at all. This meal was extremely forgetful. It also doesn't help that they only serve wine and beer…I can't really drink more than one glass of wine and I'm not that much of a beer person.
So this is just my personal opinion. People really love this place and I understand that the food is very fresh and clean and people are drawn to that, but there is just so much more you can do with this menu. Spice it up a little!
I have been to Rosemary's a number of times and I really like it.
First it is a gorgeous restaurant.
I also really love that they have a rooftop farm and their commitment to being aware of where their source their food.
The food taste good as well, the bread they serve when you sit down is amazing. And I really like their olive oil cake and there drinks/wine selection is good.
I have had some misses with my main dish but I would definitely recommend stopping by.
This menu was a little bit difficult to decipher. Most of the food seemed unfamiliar to me but it was considered a farm to table style cuisine in the West Village. We did end up ordering the rosemary focaccia bread and loved it! The flavor was so fresh. We also ordered a dish that was tortellini + pureed pesto and pine nuts and this was delicious. I don't like heavy food so I was in heaven eating this. The portion size was perfect for me (if you are a burly man or a heavy lunch eater, this would upset you because it was quite small). And the prosciutto and arugula panini was also quite good. The beers we ordered were light and refreshing and made for a lovely late afternoon lunch. The atmosphere at this restaurant is great. It has a chic, summertime vibe to it.
Rosemary's has been a West Village staple for many years now, with awesome food, a lively crowd, all in a well lit corner space decorated to resemble an Italian country house. The food is generally quite good, ranging from charcuterie and cheeses, pasta dishes, and farm animal entrees for dinner to your traditional eggs benedict or ham & eggs for brunch (personally, the chili linguine has never let me down). The space itself is expertly decorated to feel cozy and warm (with exposed brick and rafters, and plenty of hanging string lights), but is large enough to seat 100+ people. The service is usually above average and the space is well-staffed to handle the crowds (particularly during prime brunch and dinner hours).
As with most West Village spots, it's walk-in only for small groups (unless you're a member of the Friends of the Neighborhood program), so expect a slight wait if you going for brunch or weekend dinner. For obvious reasons, be sure to snag an outdoor or window table during the spring/summer months. The menu is also very well priced for the neighborhood. All in all, highly recommended.
Cool fact: A good portion of the produce and herbs served are grown in the farm on the rooftop.
I should have read the reviews before suggesting this spot for brunch. As soon as we were seated for brunch, a server was asked to take a picture of the table next to us. Instead of looking around to understand how much space he had, he leaned back and was literally taking this picture on top of me. When I reacted he apologized by saying "Sorry sir" and quickly took another picture again still touching my back. He's very lucky I was hungover, otherwise I would have straight reversed my chair and made him fall to the ground. The service at our table was pretty good. It was unfortunate I experienced the space breach incident with another sever.
I ordered the smoked salmon on focaccia bread that had a sundried tomato, fennel, dill topping. My husband ordered the spaghetti with pancetta. His meal was amazing, mine was okay. The sundried tomato topping did not had much flavor and looked like an unappetizing soggy mess. The salmon was good along with the bread but I could just make that at home, you know?
Nothing special here except the decor and ambiance. But there are plenty of other places in NYC where I can experience that.
Rosemary's is the ideal west/greenwich village Italian hot spot. The homey restaurant with their home grown veggies located right on its roof draws a hipster crowd seeking a great glass of wine plus freshly fixed food.
I've been on a couple of occasions and am a huge fan of their meat and cheese selections with an authentic Italian selection. Forever will be a fan of the prosciutto di parma meat, last time I was there, we double down on that meat even though it was just the two of us. The cheeses are a little on the pricey side.
Overall Rosemary's is a great date spot (they don't take reservations though). Depending on the night you go, the wait can take over an hour or can be quite quick. Gottino Enoteca e Salumeria around the corner is the perfect place to hop over to for a quick drink while waiting on your table.
ps their lengthy wine selection is reasonably priced.
