  1. Invited by a friend to try out this place for lunch today. I am not West Indian so I'm not qualified to speak about the authenticity of the food here but I can say that I know good food & what I enjoy. I tried the curry duck with rice, potato, and daal and they threw in a little hot sauce on the side for me to try out.

The duck was very tender and flavorful. Not overly spicy but it had good flavor. The daal was okay but a little thin for my taste and compared to what I've had before. Potatoes were also cooked well and tasty although not overly seasoned – not a complaint, just an observation. I liked the hot sauce – good flavor, not just pure heat – and will ask for more of that next time.

I also tried a bit of my pal's curry beef and it was super tender and tasted good. Washed it all down with a West Indian lime rickey soda and that hit the spot and was a good companion for the food.

The interior was clean, for the most part, although not super brightly lit. We sat by the door and caught the nice breeze while also allowing ourselves some ventilation so as not to be marinated in the strong (yet delicious) scents wafting through the joint. Still left smelling of the place but, hey, that's not uncommon when you go to most (West) Indian restaurants, right?

They give you a lot of food packed into the container so you will either leave stuffed and waddling or have leftovers. I don't consider either a bad option. Pricing is very fair, especially for the amount of food they give you.

Hoping to go back, try some other menu items, and bump up my star rating. If I could give it 3.5 based on this visit, I would. If everything were as satisfying as the curry duck, I would have given them 4 stars. Oh well…that leaves room for next time.
