Royal Restaurant
“As John N. so accurately wrote "It's not a fine culinary experience…"”
“I have also ordered later in the day and still the delivery is super fast, courteous, and the food always comes as ordered.”
“Yes, it is a grease pit and smells like one, but it's otherwise clean and bright, and I always leave stuffed to the gills, ready for a lazy day.”

I can't believe I've never come here. After all this years, I finally came with the bf. Friendly service and a homey atmosphere, that's how I like my diner. The food also came fast which I was very impressed. The portion was big and the food was your good average diner food. There were a lot of people at 9am on a Thursday morning. It seems like a neighborhood spot for breakfast with older couples and the elderly filling in most of the seats.
The price is right, the food fills my belly, and the atmosphere along with the music transports me in a world where I can eat breakfast peacefully with great company. What more can I ask from a diner?
Royal Diner, I'm glad I finally came. I will be back.
Royal gave me a mundane dining experience with boring food and lousy service. I had more luck getting things when I asked a busboy rather than a waiter, after multiple tries. IMO the key to Royal's continued success must be the business district providing foot traffic.
Wow have been here on a number of occasions for breakfast. It has to be one of the best, in the neighborhood. The owner or boss sometimes looks at me kind of funny when I sit at the counter by the pass. Because I like to see what is going on at the grill. Especially when you see a foot high pile of bacon sitting unrefrigerated in a 8 inch pie pan. That's why I avoid pork. Not all pork.
Eggs over easy = excellent
Home Fries extra well done = excellent
Turkey Sausage = v v v good
Tea with a lemon wedge = hot and good
Whole Wheat toast dry = v v v good
The main part of this meal, is when they cook the home fries just like the way I ordered them, extra well done. They could use some onions and peppers though.
You get two thumbs up even though it cost just as much as Manhattan prices. $8.10 total. Not including the tip.
They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
More diner than restaurant………My now defunct bf was a diner fellow. We sat in a booth and we ate. My tuna melt on rye had cheese melted on the rye instead of the tuna of which I was not a fan. The canned pickle was fresh though.
My ex bfs tripple decker was fresh though a tad dry. His cappucino with whipped cream tasted like Mexican hot chocolate with a shot of coffee and it was strangely delicious. Nice booths and friendly locals.
