Love this place! We were looking for a place to grab a quick breakfast and some lunch to go before we hit the airport and this place is just around the corner of Yotel. It's a small charming place which fits the name, "Rustic Table."
We had the Fisherman's Breakfast which is an omelette with smoked salmon and red onions served side of sour cream, salad, and delicious bread (Italian Country Bread?) with homemade Oliver butter! I loved everything! The salad was nice and light. The omelette was not over cooked, soft, and fluffy.
For lunch, we had the Slow Cooked Brisket Sandwich, which was also yummy! The bread was soft not soggy. Recommend! We also ordered the Organic Quinoa Salad, this was okay. Very healthy but could use a dressing.
Friendly service, tasty bread and butter, HEALTHY-farm-to-table! This is your place!
Mmmmm. Loved the ambiance and food here. I had the Early Lunch with tender beef briskets, chickpeas, arugula and chick peas (+egg on top). Tasted very fresh, full and healthy. Very friendly service, no wait for us at the bar table for a late Saturday lunch. Ironic dish selection for me.
My friend had the chicken salad that looked like general tso's chicken. Lol
Not too loud, clean. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area!
Beautiful, quaint little place. The sandwich that I had (smoked brisket) was delicious and on the most incredible fresh bread. The atmosphere is definitely a nice change from the hustle and bustle of the city—a welcome respite for this Buffalo gal. I thought that the price was a little steep for what I got ($13, just the sandwich), but I guess it's the city…. Everyone in the place was incredibly friendly and was busy greeting guests, bussing tables, whatever they had to do to make everyone feel welcome. I wouldn't make a special trip to come here, but I thought it was more than adequate for a quick bite.
My colleague and I chose this place as it was located a few steps away from our hotel, and we were hungry!
The food was ok, but nothing spectacular, especially for the price. I had the peanut butter chicken salad with sweet potatoes. But no real complaint there.
The service however was another story. It was slow, and the server was a bit rude. My colleague asked for a decaf espresso which ended up pretty watery. At least the server recognized that their decaf, being preground, wasn't good and didn't charge it to us.
Also, they left the door wide open and it was a cold, rainy day. It didn't make for a very comfortable stay.
I'm sure there are better options in the area, if you feel hungry. It's not bad, but if I were you I'd try something else instead.
Finding a table for Sunday brunch in Hell's Kitchen without a reservation can be challenging, but when we called Rustic Table from five minutes away they said they'd do their best to seat us. Upon arrival my girlfriend and I were immediately seated at the window side counter with a view out onto West 42nd Street.
The menu is a single page of offerings with a strong farm-to-table influence. I was eyeing the brisket sandwich when I noticed the Early Lunch, listed as featuring avocado, chickpeas, spinach, egg, and also the lusted after brisket. The waiter recommended it and I placed my order, not sure exactly what to expect.
I was impressed. The main portion was served in a bowel, arranged neatly but soon mixed together to give the most flavor in each bite. The brisket was tender and flavorful, while the avocado offered a creamy counter, pairing nicely with the denseness of the chickpeas and the green taste of the spinach. It was accompanied by a basket of soft bread and a pat of olive butter.
My girlfriend said her croissant breakfast sandwich was the best she had ever eaten ("and it doesn't even have bacon on it!"). A man I presume to have been the owner was the one who served us our food, and he checked back during the meal to receive our hearty approval. I wish I lived nearby so as to be able to dine here again.
This place is so perfect for a cold winter day (… I'm sure it's as great during the summer, but the vibes here warmed me right up!) The servers were very sweet and their greens were fresh. I ordered their mushroom omelette which came with bread and salad. The portion looked small, but it was filling. I don't know what it is about this place, but I love it. It's cozy, relaxing. Food is excellent. Not the best location (closest subway stop is Times Sq/Port Authority), but I would highly recommend.
Super cute, rustic location in Midtown. The setting and ambiance is on point with the name and theme. Consequently I was seated at a tiny bar at the window that was fogged up. Thankfully it was warm inside 🙂
The service and ambiance was on point, but let's get to the key .. the food and the value of it. There really isn't much value. I had the Fisherman's Breakfast and my companion the Farmer's Breakfast. Cute plates of food arranged well and pretty decent, but really $12 and $13 for each? Hrmm, I guess if you slap some smoked salmon on there it's a $1 and cheese + eggs are pricey these days?
Tack on a couple lattes at $3-4 a pop and you're looking at a near $40 brunch that still has you hungry for more.
It was nice. It just didn't do much to be that memorable and the price point.
Wow this place is expensive! $$$ 3.5 stars most.
Spent $35 for 2 people on snacks…
We ordered the salmon bite, avocado bite, quiche and an iced Nutella drink. The bites are literally tiny! And very average, mostly bread to fill you up. They come with a tiny side of salad (like 10 leaves probably). The quiche was delicious though, would definitely recommend. Iced Nutella tasted like watered down Nutella. Tasty but not worth $5.50.
The cafe is cute and the food comes on these wooden planks. They've got chill music and strong, free wifi (Rustic Table Guest; password is bluesky504). Service was good but kinda felt like they were rushing us, taking away dirty plates immediately and promptly giving us the check.
Would only come back for a coffee chat perhaps.
