  1. This joint threw me off a bit. Spinach in ramen? That's a first. No bamboo shoots either- what a disappointment. We ordered the original and spicy tan tan. My spicy ramen was overbearingly peanutty. I don't know if this place is Thai influenced, but it did not taste like ramen to me. The original tasted much more like ramen broth. The spicy broth didn't taste like it was slow cooked, nor rich. Two keys in perfecting ramen.
I honestly can't get over how much of peanut taste it had…… yes I saw crushed peanuts inside, but seriously it tasted like peanut butter was added in.

  2. hmmm i broke my rule and went into this place 30min before it was closing and there wasnt a person in site but i was hungry and wanted ramen BAD.

so we asked if its okay haha i really dont mind being turned away but they gladly fed us!

i ordered the spiciest ramen they had and added on extra spice. the selection of this place wasnt a lot but enough. they even had noodle selections which ive never seen before. so i def liked the options. so the food came and i enjoyed the broth, my friend thought it was salty but hmm it was good. the ground beef in the broth was really good i kept digging in my bowl and was amazed at how much meat was in here. the noodles were good. the egg was the disappointment. although i had ordered extra spicy it wasnt spicy at all which left me to believe this place is americanized. no biggy it was still a good light meal. the food was prepared by someone who was japanese and the manager was japanese i could hear them talking to each other and that really made me food good about my meal haha it authenticated the experience. but since im a ramen snob this place was just average. id give it another shot but itd have to impress me way more.

this place doubles as a brunch place and is very close to lots of hipster bars. loved that as well.

  3. My girlfriend and I came here last Sunday. They were very nice by offering us free drinks because their AC died. The appetizers that they served was delicious. I had the pork bun and it was very tasty. The service was very good as well.

I wasn't crazy about the original shoyu ramen. Mainly because of the pork. The pork is just very bland. I had a taste of my girlfriend's tan-tan ramen, it was better than mine. The ramen is not bad here so if you have a craving for them and there isn't any other option, this isn't a bad place to go to.

  4. I came here last night with my other half and this place wasn't packed. The staff was nice, they greeted us right when we came in. We were seated quickly because there were of plenty of seats available. Which is good. This place is very casual but since we're on a date I decided to dress up a bit. Now on with our food!

We ordered 2 pork buns for appetizers. For entrees, I got the Ryujin original and my boyfriend ordered the Shoyu ramen. I would say portions about the same for both ramens. The only difference is my ramen has a little bit more flavor than my boyfriend's.

For dessert, my boyfriend checked in on Yelp and we got free ice cream. Yay! I have to say they were very generous with portions. We each had 3 scoops of ice cream. I had the vanilla and my boyfriend had the green tea.

As for the price, I think the pork buns was expensive. Each buns were $5 each. But the ramen is decently priced at $15.

Overall, I enjoyed my date and this place. I will be next time to try out their other food.

  5. Ramen is GOOD! the fried chicken appetizer is also pretty damn good. we got here a bit late but the staff was still courteous and accommodating. broth wasn't overly salty like most ramen places and the noodles were really on point. not much of an option for dessert but its okay, this place is worthy trying if you're desperate for ramen.
