  1. Okay so don't tell my trainer, but I came here to order takeout for a family Sunday dinner and I don't regret it!

I ordered shrimps in garlic sauce with a side tostones, amazing. Portion was not too big, which made me feel a lot better about my meal. The shrimps were cooked to buttery garlic perfection. And even though the tostones were not crunchy (sitting in a take out bag for 30mims), they were still pretty good. Chino Latino fusion food is the way to go.

Super tip: This place has the best fried rice I've ever come across in my life, and I mean it.

  2. This place is another hidden gem in the Bronx.. I love the style of having a Chinese and Spanish food mix. The shrimp mofongo is so delicious the mofongo is so soft and the shrimps are so fresh. The rice which is an Ecuadorian style ( chala flong.. But I think I'm wrong) is amazing. This is something you need to try when you stop by Sabrosura. The service is great. The only thing that can suck is that sometimes you may have to wait a while. But throw that mood out the window because once you're seated you are ready for some great food.

  3. Came here several times to experience the unique latino-chinese food. I love the huge selection of various dishes (from seafood to fried rice) to italian pasta. It also helped that the portions were big as well. One gripe I had, however, is that the food is too salty. I've waited til I dined here several times before saying this and each time, my food had too much salt. Also, I've noticed that the food is greasy as well. Despite its other pros, sadly, I probably won't return unless I am craving a special dish that they had.

  4. Love this  place … Only eat here when in the area..  always PACKED but once seated the service is speedy.  .. I've only had like 3 things on the menu but don't need to try anything else because whenever I come I have a to have 1 of the 3 items…. A must try for dessert Is the 3 leeches cake is sooo good….

  5. We drove by the area for gas. The restaurant was right on the corner and I looked up the reviews it was pretty decent. The restaurant was basic had a to go counter up front. It's a Chinese-Latin restaurant with a variety of Pacific-Asian and Carribbean dishes. I ordered the tostones with chorizo and avocado and the fried pork mofongo to go. It's looked like a Chinese owned joint and was cash only. The staff was friendly she told let me know it would be a 10 min wait. The tostones were tasty with added fresh tomatos and onions. We also enjoyed the fried pork mofongo, the pork was marinated it was tender went really well with the onions, mofongo and sauce. What a find!

  6. Do not get the ropa vieja!!  It was horrible…
I was just  a plate of mush with garlic.  No distinguishable pieces of meat.
I guess I ordered the wrong thing,  everyone else's meals looked great.

  7. I am truly shocked by the reviews. I am already leery about restaurants in this area because they're usually not all that great for anything other than quick, greasy comfort food and drinks, but based on the ratings I figured we had a decent shot. No such luck.

Firstly, parking is horrible in the neighborhood. We had to park a few blocks down. When we walked in, we we had to wait about ten minutes for a table to open up. The place was packed which is another reason why I'm so surprised as to how horrible the food was.

When our table was ready, we sat and a server came right away to take our orders. I tried to order a beer but the man said they don't have a license. I'm unsure what may have happened because they've been here for a while, if I'm not mistaken, and the menu listed alcoholic drinks as well as a television, mounted in the dining area, which showed picture of their wine selection and drinks.

I settled on a can of seltzer. Sometimes I forget where I am and I think I can order anything and it will be fine. Yea…nope. We started with an assortment of beef, chicken and seafood Empanadas which were ok. We also had the baked clams which were greasy and not too appetizing.

My son and I settled on the Seafood Pasta in cream sauce for two and we were horrified at how disgusting the dish was. Neither of us could eat it. It was a pile of previously frozen seafood including a whole lobster, shrimp, scallops and clams in a nasty white cream sauce. The seafood was unappetizing and the flavour was just too gross. Whatever I originally shared out onto a plate, I shoveled right back into the main dish. It was nasty and I was done.

Hubby, the birthday boy, ordered Churrasco with Mofongo (banana mashed w/pork cracklings) which was served with a weird Asian-y Mushroom Sauce. The sauce tasted ok but it was just out of the ordinary. It was super shiny and you could tell there was a crapload of cornstarch in it to thicken it. Hubby complained that the meat was not skirt steak but a cheap mockup of a different cut that caused his mouth to start hurting from the chewing.

My mother-in-law opted for the Pork Ribs that came with what looked like a Fried Rice. She did not enjoy her meal either. She complained of it being too greasy and just full of oil.

None of us enjoyed our food. We basically wrapped up the leftovers (which I promptly handed to my MIL), paid the bill and headed home very disappointed.

Needless to say, I won't be returning and I doubt any of my family will. I can't say that I was surprised at the outcome.

  8. Stumbled on here after hearing constant amount of hype from my father and grandmother these past few years, so I have it a try for some lunch. I ordered pork fried rice with broiled spare ribs, while waiting I received the soup of the day which was alright and toasted bread. 3 min later, I was quite surprised to see my plate. I'm used to getting small portions for lunch version meals. But this was a lot of food for the price, as I was eating some of broiled pork it had that zest taste, making me wonder if it was either a honey infused bbq or what could it be?!! So delicious, the rice tasted more on the Dominican side than Chinese. All and all I had a good meal, if I'm in the area again I wouldn't mind hitting this spot again 🙂
