  1. The place looks like a dump. Exposed wires hanging from everywhere. The bathroom is so nasty that you need to disinfect yourself after using it. The space is very big with a very long bar. They have a dance floor and a stage. High top tables. Very dark in here. Not much money was put into fixing up the place. The name Safari Beach Club is inviting but it does not look/feel like a safari not a beach.

They have a lot of TV's so it is good to watch sports. I have eaten here before but the food is nothing to brag about. Besides considering how the place looks I can only imagine how nasty the kitchen must be. Ugh gives me the heebee geebies!

The music they play is good. SBC attracts a very young mixed crowd. They were playing beer pong and Jenga in a room that is off the the side.

Come here if you want cheap drinks but ONLY for that reason.

  2. I came here on a friday night after hearing recommendations about this place from my boss and my boyfriends friends who were all locals in the area. We arrived around 11:00 after we found a parking lot a block away with plenty of spots. When I arrived with my boyfriend and his group we were immediately checked for ID and there was  no entrance fee, they didn't even check our bags or pockets so I question their security measures here.As I came in, I took a look around the whole place and I was not thrilled with the layout. There are basically 3 bars, like two on your left and one on your right, then towards the bathroom you have a crappy wooden dance floor with corny lights by the DJ and tables in between the bar on each side. Its like okay which bar do I sit in? Is one bartender at one section better than another, why isn't there just one large L shaped main bar?
I was happy with how large the space was and how there was a fancier private room in the back, but seriously this place is outdated! The theme is supposed to be like your at a beach , but I never got that vibe. I just saw a bunch of old local creeps watching sport games, getting piss drunk, acting dumb on the dance floor that was empty. The music was all over the place, they went from playing taylor swift to edm mixes of Britney spears and then old songs by mariah carey, like you can't even dance to half those songs.
I see that they want to attract classier clientele when they consider this bar to be more like a "beach club", but it comes off as a tacky and confusing old sports bar.  There is no dress code here, so you can come in with sweatpants or dress to impress.
i have to say the bartenders were friendly, they worked fast and they are generous on alcohol. My jack and coke was 10 bucks and it was strong, a few of those can definitely get you buzzed.
I can picture this bar being successful and classier if they did renovations and changed the theme to sports only. I have heard good things about how lively and rowdy the sports games are when they use a large projector, it brings all the locals together .
Also the bathrooms here are just gross trying to look like it is in a pool house or cabana, honestly I did not even want to touch the doorknobs there. With that being said I would not even want to try the food there, the place looked dirty.
I would like to come back in the summer when its nice and sunny to see how the bar runs when they leave the doors open along the boulevard, like for boozy brunch or happy hour. The nightlife here on the other hand needs improvement, end of discussion.

  3. I'm really curious about the negative reviews; either things have changed for SBC, or I've been lucky every time.

First off, the place is HUGE. There are 3.5 bars (one when you walk in, one in the back right and two smaller ones, which is why I say 3.5) and an absurd number of televisions, which means football Sunday = a great day here.

For those complaining about the wings.. I don't get it. The wings were always pretty healthy in size and the sauces were on point. Word of advice though: stay away from the teriyaki. Whatever you do, don't order the teriyaki. Unless your passion is having wings drenched in what I can only describe as sauce that comes from a bottle labeled "SALTY AS F—," I would not order it. Instead, go with the honey BBQ, the hot, the mild (if you're a baby) and the Parmesan garlic (you won't be making out with anyone though).
You won't find any real specials on Sunday, which is a shame since several of the neighboring spots have quarter wings and beer specials, but the quality and level of service make up for that in spades. But that's why I only gave 4 stars.

They do a three wing sampler, which is 10×3 wings in your choice of sauces, and it's a great money saver if you and your friend(s) are starving.

The beer selection, while not massive, is definitely respectable and the bartenders are all pretty awesome people and/or easy on the eyes so….that's always a plus.

The SBC fries are killer if you don't care about your life as you get a huge plate of fries covered in cheese in bacon (guys, the cheese needs to actually be melted!)

After Conga's next door closed down (always pay your taxes, people!), my friends and I were desperate for a new sports bar, and SBC won us over. It's not the cheapest, but it's pretty great.

  4. This place is a LOT larger on the inside than it looks from the outside! On a regular night, it's a casual place to grab some food and drinks with a friend. Ladies Night on Wednesdays are a completely different story, though. This is where people come to get ratchet. Buying a $5 wristband will get women free drinks from 8pm until 1am. If you see two small Asian girls going all-out on the dance floor, that's probably me and my friend. DJ Ricketz (who spins hard EDM) is overqualified to play at Safari Beach Club, and he's the only reason I'll keep coming back. Otherwise, the crowd gets pretty trashy and that really turns me off.

  5. Wow, was totally surprised by how big this place is.  Great place to come catch a sports game with their 30+ TVs and a crazy long bar.  Staff is extremely friendly and drinks and really well priced.  Food is typical bar food but does the job.  There really isn't a Safari theme, and it's kind of divey, but it's okay, it's a cool place to grab a drink and watch some games.

I will be back.  Look for Mack, awesome bartender.

  6. Came here last night to catch game 1 of the Mets and Royals World Series, I'm a sucker for wings where the meat falls off the bone and SBC is not the place to get them.  We got the wings platter which comes with options of 45 wings and 3 sauces, we got hot, bbq and Jack Daniels sauces, the best of the three was the JD sauce but even though the sauces were a hit the wings were hard to bite into, perfect size not too big and not too small.  The hit of the night was the SBC fries, loaded fries with bacon and cheese with creamy ranch dip sauce.

We arrived just in time for the game and SBC was not full, service was great until it got packed, it will take forever for us to get a refill of our drinks. Our server noticed that she hasn't been to our table and after that she was on top of refilling our drinks.

I believe this was Johnny Famous back in the day.

  7. Fourth of July 2015 this sports bar was dead but the staff are very accommodating and welcoming to my party of two. A combined sports bar and live entertainment with the elements of TVs, pool tables, bowling alley game. Space is available for dancing to geriatric rock n roll cover bands.  Safari Beach's website has a calendar that lists all cover bands playing as well as their time slot. Select nights there is a DJ pivoting the music.  Safari Beach has Happy Hour on select nights with "Ladies Night" themes or other activities. Theme to a beach setting with beach-like names for drinks and food menu.  This business is actually dead as patrons go to a real beach. They have a blender to accommodate a non-alcoholic drink, Virgin Piña Colada without alcohol due to my recent MAJOR surgery I am still on medication.

    Our party of two ordered:
BBQ Beach Wrap with French Fries $6.95
Macho Nachos $12.00 (vegetable chips by Terra Chips) served on a triangle plate

Food is average and nothing that sparks my interest- 2 stars, but the drinks and entertainment are worth a visit- 4 stars. Customer service is attentive- 4 stars.  The bar tender was nice who enable me to gain power for my cell phone from all the picture taking.

  8. Love the atmosphere here. It feels like it's a bar located on a beach. Which is perfect given its name. There was a band playing when my friend and I went on a Saturday afternoon so we sat at a table near the door so we could hear each other.

We ordered the fish tacos and the Safari Seafood Sampler – 12 clams, 12 oysters, 12 shrimp. I loved the tacos and the oysters (which were huge, and the bigger the oyster, the better, according to me). However, the shrimp wasn't fresh, and for that, I've got to dock the stars.
