  1. I came here today after leaving Target and they got beef kabob for only 3 bucks a piece!  Considering that they charge 8 dollars a piece in the city, this is a great price. The beef kabob was really good too.

    I've had hot dogs from here before and it was pretty good as well.  Best part is that they serve halal meat.

    Update: I tried the platters today and it was tasty.  I got the mix plate ( gyro & chicken).  Quality is not like halal guys but most carts arn't. Still good though. Best part it comes with soda & salad for six dollars.

    give it a try if your in the neighborhood. Not worth traveling to but try it out if in the neighborhood.

  2. Unlike the other halal cart at the same location (yelp.com/biz/halal-cart-…), Sahara has a few veggie choices (see my pic of the menu). Great for a busy vegan shopping at the Junction.

    The falafel platter is an okay deal. Here's what you get for $6:
    * 4 nice little falafel
    * Handful of chickpeas
    * 1 small stuffed grape leaf
    * 1 really tiny piece of grilled eggplant
    * Seasoned veggie-rice pilaf
    * Salad: lettuce, cucumber slices, 1 pickle slice, 1 pickled cauliflower floret, 1 small hot pepper
    * Optional white sauce
    * Soda or small bottled water

    The falafal was great: crisp outside, moist inside, and tasty. The rest of the platter was just okay or subpar. Of course, what's most important about a food cart IMO is cleanliness, convenience and price, and not so much the corners cut. So if the chickpeas and grape leaf were right out of the can and the veggies in the pilaf were from frozen, that's not something to complain about. But rusty lettuce is really annoying. Oh well, I'm just really glad about the non-meat menu.
