Fresh sushi served on beautifully decorated boats and plates. We've been coming here a lot since my relatives live nearby. We've tried the salmon sashimi, sushi & sashimi for two, plus a variety of different rolls. The salmon melts in your mouth!
Went again but this time for dinner. Very disappointed with the service.
1. Some of the serving ware was filthy and had ask for clean ones.
2. Wife ordered brown rice, she got white. No apologies.
3. After we ate, I was still hungry so I asked about how they make the broth for their ramen. The description was "white broth". The server said the broth was made out of pasta. PASTA? The broth is made from pasta? She kept saying yes. I said, "are you sure, that's sound very strange. Do you mean the noodles are like pasta?" She said it was a pasta broth and went to ask another server, than another one, than finally to the kitchen to ask the chef. She came back and shoved a smart phone in front of me with a photo of the carton the broth comes in. It was pork. Perhaps it was a language issue ( I never understood why restaurants would hire a server who didn't speak English well) and along with the fact she was just guessing. So I said you serve ramen from pre-made broth? Do you make your own noodles? "no". She said she doesn't get many orders for ramen so they don't have the time to make it from scratch, we are a sushi restaurant, not a noodle bar. Okay, then take it off the menu!!
The place was surprisingly busy, and not sure why folks eat there when Umi sushi is just down the street and the service and food is better.
The lunch deal was good but won't go back again. Mind you, no issue with the sushi itself (though there was a bit too much wasabi in my CA roll) but service is too big of a deal for me and this place needs has no clue.
I'm waffling between 2 and 3 stars here… it was just okay. Sushi was not all that fresh (I was glad I only ordered one roll), and tempura had SUPER thick batter. However, the chicken tempura entree was generous and included both onion and eggplant that were delicious. Service was adequate, although I'm fairly certain the waitress forgot my table for a little while. I won't be running back.
I got takeout and it seemed really expensive for what I got. My $17 special roll was delicious but was 8 small pieces. It was the one roll they offer that has no rice, just rice paper. And delivery was over an hour even though they said 15 minutes to an hour, and I live very nearby. Why didn't I just go pick it up? Well, I was being lazy because I just drove back from my holiday travels in a rainstorm and was DONE. I am not really impressed with delivery sushi as a rule, and this was no exception.
When one of the nicest things I can say is that they have their own parking lot, it's clear that I was not blown away.
My wife and I went and had made a reservation. When we arrived, they tried to seat us at the Sushi bar. If we'd wanted to sit at the bar, we wouldn't have reserved a table. So we had to wait about 10-15 minutes which wasn't so bad, but it was still a bit of a head scratcher.
The sushi is good enough. Nothing spectacular. The tempura in the rolls was far too heavy. The special rolls were fine.
It's a pretty standard sushi joint that's not offering anything truly special. The prices are a touch high, but in line with the restaurant's location. There's just not anything that distinguishes it from other local locations.
Good enough if you're local, but not really a destination location.
AMAZING! Gastronomic.
This place was pretty packed Friday night. They told us 30 min wait at first but they let us add on another chair to a 2 person table. The waitresses were literally running around restaurant. They still managed to be very attentive though. Since we were seated at a small table, I accidentally knocked over soy sauce and it spilled everywhere! But it wasn't hard to get their attention. They even stopped to take a quick picture for us.
They have pretty good sushi dinner deals and kitchen entrees. I had chilean sea bass, which I absolutely love! And it came with soup, salad, gyoza, california roll, tempura. I was stuffed, but it was the best meal I've had in a while! M and T both got sushi, and they claim that the crunchy spicy tuna is amazing. The dishes that I saw on others' tables were also really fancy and looked delicious. There was so much other stuff that looked good, although I wasn't sure what a lot of it was. I probably could have asked, but I was pretty set on the sea bass anyways!
Also, it was my birthday recently… so it was embarrassing, but they brought out ice cream for me with a candle and sang happy birthday.
I came here late, around 9pm, on a Wednesday for dinner. There was only one or two other tables at the time, but it was still open and the waitress was very friendly. We ordered quickly and were served quickly.
I can't remember the exact name of his dish, but I believe my boyfriend ordered a pork tonkatsu dish with rice. The pork was fine, average. Strangely, they served it on a doily. The doily was kind of "disintegrated" (you know the way wet paper gets) by the steam of the hot rice and pork and it mixed into the food in a weird way until my boyfriend realized there was paper in his food, and we had to pull out the doily and pick pieces of the paper out of his rice and pork. A really weird way to serve food.
I got sushi that included eel, avocado, and asparagus (again, I can't remember the name). The sushi was an interesting flavor combination with good texture. Tasted fresh.
Everything was fine, there was polite service, and the restaurant is reasonably priced. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but it's decent.
Lucky me, I got sat next to a this mother and daughter who bickered the whole time. Daughter throws a temper tantrum and I spent half of my dinner listening to the train wreck. However, the staff apologized and were very gracious about it. My date and I even got a comped dessert for it.
The space is bright and has that "fancy" look to it. You know, white table clothes and such. But the staff didn't treat me any differently when I walked in with muddy shoes and jeans from my hike. I really appreciated that. I'm usually nervous about walking into a spot and not being dressed like I should be. So kudos for the excellent service.
As for the food, it was delicious like the last time I visited and the portions are huge. The dinner boxes are well worth the price tag and will leave you with enough left-overs for a next-day lunch. Or in my case, a snack. Just because left-over sushi is such a posh movie snack.
The fish here is fresh, the rolls and sashimi are delicious. Their salad dressing is dynamite. Shumai was a bit weird but still edible. Oh, and did I mention the green tea ice cream? So yummy. This place is definitely worth going to.
