This was the first time I had this salad works even though it's been around for years. I thought I'd give it a shot but I wish I hadn't. I don't think it's the location, it's just the ingredients in the salads. Something about it was kind of off and I did not want to continue eating it. I think a salad from qdoba across the food court would've been better!
However, one good thing was their butternut squash soup. I finished the whole bowl and left half the salad. I wish they kept just salads open!
Saladworks provides healthier fast food options, and this highway location acts as a quick rest stop. Though you would never guess it from the name, the casual restaurant offers items beyond salad, such as soup, paninis, and other sandwiches. In terms of salad, the diner is greeted with several pre-designed options, but they can also craft their own platter with up to 5 "free" ingredients. Any additional topping ranges from $0.75-$1.25. A whole wheat or white roll is served as a balancing accompaniment.
On my last visit, I made my own salad of mixed field greens, black olives, sun-dried tomatoes, carrots, mushrooms, and granny smith apples. I did enjoy my meal, but something about fast food salad just grosses me out. The topping options are minimal, and the prices are slightly higher than they should be.
There is nothing remarkable about this pit stop chain, but its healthy options make it more appealing than most.
Ok salads for lunch. Overpriced compared to supermarket salad bar. The staff is not the most friendly. Not the worst but better options.

A great location for good salads. This specific location has very great and efficient service, plenty of seating too.

First of all, I love Sweetgreen. Yes, it is kinda pricey (~$15 for a salad), but I actually get 1.5 meals out of an order so it's not that bad! Unfortunately there aren't any locations by my home or office. I hoped Saladworks would be a nice substitute
I ordered the farmhouse salad with avocado, except they forgot the avocado (which is a shame because I think it would've been a great addition to the salad).
The portions are definitely smaller than Sweetgreen–I was able to finish the my entire order for lunch. But each salad comes with a warm piece of bread and who doesn't appreciate a warm piece of bread?? (Sweetgreen just gives a slice of bread that FYI is not warm. And sometimes they don't even offer it so if you don't know to ask you don't get it)
Another note is there was barely any chicken in it, just a few pieces here and there. Besides that I really liked the farmhouse. But I like salad in general so idk if my opinion is that helpful.
Customer service is…there. The manager actually called the office later in the day to ask how the food was and if we had any problems with delivery. Told him about the missing avocado and he apologized but didn't do anything else to rectify it
All in all, this place is a great healthy alternative to the typical lunch places we frequent at. And I'm sure we will be ordering from salad works again.
Have to tell you, Saladworks is a welcome addition to the "healthy" fast food concept. I usually have lunch there once or twice a week and their salads never disappoint. Granted, it's a much higher price point than say McDonald's or even Chipotle, but in my book, it's well worth it. A salad with chicken, a bunch of other fresh ingredients and a drink runs just over $11. I usually opt for the Thai Chicken because it's not only good, it has fewest calories of anything else they offer. I like that calorie count is listed. As for the staff, they're friendly and helpful, always willing to suggest a dressing or anything based on your personal preference. All and all, I think Saladworks is a winner in the fast food game, offering delicious choices at fair prices that are far less gastronomically dangerous than their more pedestrian competition. Kudos.
Generally, the physical location is clean and well maintained. It's quite busy at times, despite the proximity of 5 Guys and other waistline-wideners. The food is well made and is mostly prepared in an efficient manner. I did have to call the manager once, to complain about the short portions they were using, for toppings (extras). At one point, I had asked for stringbeans, and I received five, one of which was a stem.
Despite what appears to be an orderly and organized food prep line, it is sometimes chaotic, with preparers failing to correctly inform the register person (sometimes the manager) what's coming down the line. Or, after specifically answering their query about some item, they seem to forget and ask you again. Not my idea of efficiency.
During our most recent visit, we ordered three items, one of which was left off the bill. The manager promptly – too promptly – rang up the third item, failing to swipe our loyalty card. Now for some, that $7.99 purchase doesn't mean much. But for the loyalty card, it means 80 points, enough to have qualified us for the next level reward. I'm not picking hairs, because the rewards are quite substantial.
The outcome? The manager made no effort to correct this (all he had to do was to void the incorrect transaction and ring it up again, with the loyalty card). I say go there for the food, but watch the extras and be extra sharp at the register. Don't let the chaos distract you.
