Took my boyfriend here for some authentic jamaican food (he's Irish) and was sorely disappointed with the experience.
We had to wait forever to get our food despite there not being a lot of people waiting before us.
I ordered the shrimp roti and since I was waiting forever the thought occurred to me that I should ask if they devein their shrimp. The answer – nope. Grossy.
The food is over priced and the decor (especially for the take out area) doesn't match the prices. It looks really outdated, sparse and a bit grungy
The servers are usually staring at the television and just not that friendly or professional. It seems like somebody's family member or friend hooked them up with the job and that they don't really want to be there.
Parking is super tight.
The atmoshpere on a Sunday evening is quiet and a bit somber with old school reggae chunes blaring in the background. I ordered the jerk chicken with rice and peas with a sorrel which was a bit more on the "gingery" side and my best friend had ordered the curry with white rice as well as the sorrel. Besides the waiters staring us down while we were eating it was a cool dining experience. Not at all a big crowd and the food was delicious.. the price was very reasonable as well. Next time I'd try some of their drinks.
A bunch of thug looking guys at the register that were unfriendly when I ordered at night . In the daytime they serve you less food . Overall I'm not that satisfied with this place .
