Buffalo chicken pizza was the sh*t, the lasagna pizza not so much. they also offer things like pastrami sandwhich, heroes, calzones, pastas. workers there are super friendly. Prices are reasonable. Would come again.
Sal's is LEGIT Bronx pizza.
It's been in the neighborhood forever. The pizza is no joke. The sauce, the cheese, the crust.
My only issue were the garlic knots. They were kind of hard and didn't have enough garlic. That won't stop me from ordering up more slices though.
Can the Bronx get more respect please?

Sal has been making my favorite chicken parm hero for…ever. I order a little extra sauce on that hero and it's perfect.
I remember the O.G. spot around the corner with the two arcade games in the tiny back…hung out there so much- I've been loving those sandwiches since then! That's so many years ago now, cause when Sal's moved to the "new" place right across the street from my building, bigger with more seating… Whoah, that's been long time now too.
Slices after school since kindergarten, and even before that… Big crispy slices, Italian ices, and chicken parm heroes forever. That could sum up entire Sal's loving life right there. Well that, and add the sentiment that Sal himself is the best. He's absolutely the nicest, sweetest man; a friendly, kind constant in the neighborhood. Knows everyone. Remembers everyone. Straight up love.
I'm happy for Sal that he's just retired. Hope he's gettin some great well-deserved relaxin… but man… I missed seeing Sal at my pizza place across the street this time. I'll certainly think of him every time I return, and I will return for chicken parm heroes, great as ever.
