  1. What a treat to step into a restaurant with a white tablecloth on the table but you can still go to for an informal occasion. The food has always been delicious and my family has been coming here for 15+ years! Some things that you should get are the hummus, the Shepards salad with cheese, and the Samdam Combination mixed grill. If you're in the area, you should definitely check out this Mediterranean heaven!

  2. First time coming here and thoroughly enjoyed it! Atmosphere itself is very nice and classy. Wasn't too busy as it was a Monday evening, but I prefer it quiet. Wait staff were very professional and friendly. The food was amazing! Loved the hummus and warm bread together. I ordered chicken kebab for the main course and it was marinated and cooked to perfection. We will be back again and highly recommend!

  3. Came in here one night with a group after one of our friends had hyped up the appetizer salad. The place was very busy that night but luckily we managed to score the last open table.  They brought us a nice warm bread basket (pita bread) while they took our drink order. After a few minutes we were ready.

We started off with an order of their salad, an order of babaganush, and an order of their fried liver cubes. The salad was the star of the night, normally salads are not worthy of any praise but this one was really great. Diced veggies, cucumber, onions, and tomatoes with a very strong dressing. The babaganush was good as well, especially with the warm pita bread that we had been saving for it. I prefer my humus/babaganush a little more garlicky but this one was still nice. Last on my list was the liver cubes. I think I just don't care much for liver as I've yet to have a liver dish which has made me want to eat more of it. I had a few of them and then went back to the salad/spread.

As an entree I had the Adanna Kebab over rice. Very large and tender cubed lamb chunks seasoned with some spice I couldn't quite place my finger on. The portions were very big and we all left fully satisfied.

The service was average, which is to say it was good, and pricing was fair. If it wasn't so out of the way from where I am I could come more often. However for the time being, this will be my go to place for middle eastern food.

  4. Samdan is a very good restaurant, its consistent.  We ordered a medium dish of the dip type appetizers which I though was a bit to expensive for what we got, however, everything was tasty.  The bread they serve is fresh and warm.  I at the chicken kebab, very good.  I also have had the donner kebab and the lamb – lamb is cooked perfectly and if you are a fan of burgers try the donner kebab, its tender and delicious.   The shepherds salad is my favorite thing on the menu.  My vegeterian friends at the zucchini pancakes which were delicious and they enjoyed the vegetable couscous as well.  Its a BYO place, casual, can be a little loud…..I was actually feeling bad for the other guests there since MY table was the loud one!!

  5. Wonderful lunch! I had some of the best lamb kebabs and a dynamite lentil soup for lunch. I was there for a meeting with colleagues, and we all loved it. If you're vegetarian, they have a huge selection of vegetarian items on the luncheon menu. For 11.95 a person, it was great.

Three of us had the lamb, one had falafel, and one had hummus and grape leaves. You start with a salad or soup – I think three of us had the soup and two had the salad, and we were all happy with our choices. The lamb was juicy and perfectly seasoned.

Great place to go if you're in the neighborhood.

  6. I called to make a to-go order. Asked about appetizers with eggplant. Wanted to order two different ones. I asked questions about ingredients of each, the guy on the phone rudely said 'I am busy, call back when you make up your mind'. I was on phone with this guy only for ONE minute!!! I was so shocked by the rude service, I hung up and we didn't go in, even though we were 2 minutes away. We live nearby and as a whole family we always go to this restaurant for dinner. But after this attitude, neither me, nor my husband are ever going there again!

  7. I stumbled upon Samdan a long time ago when I was on the cross country team in high school. One day, it was really hot outside and we stopped in here to go to the bathroom. The staff was very nice and even gave us water so we could continue on our run.

…,and I've came here ever since.

The restaurant is super nice inside and makes you feel like you are in a fancy catering hall. The staff is very welcoming & friendly.

The food is absolutely excellent. I usually come here for the lunch special ($12.95) which is a great deal. You get an entree which is very filling (vegan options available) and a shepherd salad or lentil soup option that comes with it. The entree list is very extensive and everything is $12.95 you couldnt find anything you didnt like.

I usually get the chicken tavuk which is perfectly grilled and seasoned every time on top of their buttery but not too buttery rice.

We had some extra requests like more lemon with tea & red onion, and regular peppers instead of spicy peppers and he seemed to get really annoyed. whatever.

For dessert we had baklava, which sometimes tastes stale but that's not what we come here for.

Excellent restaurant, I definitely recommend this place for any person that loves Turkish cuisine.
