Okay yeah…so I'm South Asian-American, thus naturally critical of such businesses. I placed my order through seamless in advance. Arrived half an hour later and had to wait another 40 minutes. Service is really lacking and no communication while I was the only sitting and waiting in this joint is very unappealing.
On to the food…ordered the aloo naan and the chicken kati roll. Both lacked flavor and seasoning. While the portions are fine, the utter absence of tlc for the food and non-existent customer service left a lot to be desired.
You can go to Jackson Heights, Jersey City or Edison for more authentic, better tasting food for much less!
Ordered some mini samosas from them, because what else are you supposed to order from them besides their namesake? They have a very large menu, but I don't think I'll ever need to order anything else from them because just 2 mini samosas for ~$4 is good enough to fill me up very well. And the samosas are so delicious – nice and crispy on the outside, although I wish there were a bit more peas. There's a table inside to sit down at, but it's so empty in here, I think I'll just always get take out. Will be coming back again.
A small and new spot in the Astoria neighborhood, Samosaa Bites is more of a take out kind of place. On their menu are paranthas, curries, chats n tandoor dishes. We had their Paneer chili parantha which was served with pickle and curd. It was ok and very home like which is one thing you don't want at a restaurant!
