Sanfords Restaurant
“I usually get the Nutella S'mores Waffles or the Steak Skillet and both of them are so delicious and tasty!”
“This Truffle Mac-n-Cheese might just dethrone the Gouda Stuffed Duck burger from Sanford's best dish to get.”
“The gouda stuffed duck burger was so decadent that I returned the following day to get a couple to accompany Monday night football.”

A diner with a happy hour, full bar, a 4- star menu and a fine dining vibe. Dollar oysters and $6 glasses of wine from 4-7pm.
Pork belly appetizer so good, it transported me back to Mr. B's in New Orleans. Gorgeous scallop and shrimp starter with corn and grilled baby vegetables. Hanger steak salad with baby greens, gorgonzola and grapes. The portions are generous. The best part for me? The service. Wow. I have an insufferable amount of dietary restrictions and these pros delivered EXACTLY what I wanted, no questions asked, no issues. No dairy, no sugar, no fruit, no dressing, no problem – and here's a newly opened bottle of olive oil, just to make your ketogenic heart happy.
I haven't been here since They have renovated. A bigger space, a few new faces and a great menu. Ordered the ribs as an appetizer and a delicious chicken crusted salad, my lunch date had the delicious mussels and a side salad. Sat by the window and watched locals go by as we catched up. The music was a bit loud for a mid Saturday afternoon, the service was good, I will be back.
Good bunch but always a long wait. Dinner is good also. A solid place to eat out in Astoria.
We had salads to start. They were mixed greens with
Balsamic dressing. My son ordered filet mignon and it was delicious. They served the steak with asparagus and fries. I had the ribs and they had lots of meat on them. The ribs were tasty. They came with steak fries. Atmosphere is really nice and music in background was excellent. Service was good. We enjoyed and will be back!
I started coming to this place when it was still a dinky little diner back in the 90's LoL One thing about this place that's never a disappointment is the food! I don't think I ever ate one bad or sucky thing from this place. They recently expanded it so the space is much larger now. It was getting quite annoying actually because usually on a Friday or Saturday you could not get a seat here. That's definitely due to the delicious food they make, BUT it's also due to the annoyingly increased volume of people that have taken over the Astoria neighborhood and skyrocketed all the rents!! Grrr!!! But that's another story lol Well actually- it does kinda fit in here because they do have some pretty expensive items on the menu. They have gone up in price quickly throughout the recent months. I keep coming here though and paying the prices because their food is just that good! You won't be disappointed! Check it out! One thing I had a laugh about though is that when I recently went- they now have a huge bar on the left side of the restaurant- it's like as far as the eye can see type of deal of liquor bottles. Ok I might be exaggerating about "the far as the eye can see" part lol but it's a ton! Anyway- I asked for a Captain Morgan and Coke and that's the ONE bottle of alcohol they do not carry! Of course. Murphy's law lol The waiter had a good laugh with me though. I settled for a mamosa.
Small update- just found out they are no longer 24 hours- ugh!!!
Sanfords has been one of my Yelp Bookmarks for six months! My roommate loves this place, and demanded that I eat here. I finally came last night for dinner.
Sanfords is a late-night restaurant in Astoria. They used to be open 24/7 but now have revised hours. Take the NQ to the Broadway stop and it's right outside. We came at 6:30pm on Sunday without a reservation. There was plenty of seating. It's a dark restaurant, so the only seats that get natural light are the couple tables right next to the window.
Their bread basket is dope. It's an assortment of all kinds of breads. I really like the sesame and poppy seed crackers. (It look much control to not stuff them in my bag!)
I ordered the eggplant and asiago falafel (four balls, $10) and the rustic tomato soup (bigger than a cup, $7). The falafel was really fresh and melted in my mouth. The soup was tart and had a piece of bread on top with a good portion of parmesan cheese. It was a delicious meal, but I thought it was more expensive than what it's worth.
Their brunch is the best deal. $18 for an entree and a drink. I will try to come back for brunch soon.
It's been a while since I've been to Sanford's, mainly because of how long the renovations took, but it was well worth it to drop in. The place is much bigger and expansive, and the food and service is still the same, or maybe a tad bit better. I got my usual chicken pallard and cannot complain, it's still the same. I'm happy that they've expanded, because I came in once with a party of about 10 and accommodation was an issue, not anymore.
Came here after its renovation and feel the food's even better, staff is friendly and new bar is beautiful! It's a great late night eatery in Queens that's not divey. Noticed some new places on the block so it's must be stepping up its game. The veal sandwich with au jus dipping is tasty, the fish tacos are very respectable. The chicken, bacon and avocado quesadilla was large so come with an appetite. Love that it's still called Sanford's after all these years, a little of Astoria history makes it interesting. There's good variety on the menu. From the simple organic chicken orzo soup which was comforting without being overly salty like most soups to steaks and chops for the carnivores. It's our late night Queens go-to restaurant.
