  1. Visited this restaurant to celebrate my dad's birthday. We were a party of 7 and had a wonderful experience. The weather was gorgeous so the big open window fronts in the restaurant brought in nice light and a welcomed breeze. The service was great and the food was excellent. We got four different tapas items and each decided to get one paella plate per two people. It was more than enough and the different flavors of sangria were delicious. The owner was so nice and even threw in a free pitcher of sangria of our choice. I highly recommend this place for dinner, drinks at the bar, or whatever you decide to get there.

  2. The restaurant looks nice and classy, but I wasn't a big fan of the food or the service.

We ordered a few dishes and they were mostly misses and maybe one hit. The mussels were ok. I hated the meatballs. They came with olives that really overpowered the taste of the dish. The sliders were very meh. The fries were pretty good. After so many mediocre dishes, I don't know why I decided to try desert. I had the caramel flan, and it was probably the blandest flan I ever had.

  3. Very nice sangria selection; however, the food was quite bland. The rice was officially Uncle Ben's microwave tasting. Not good at all. No salt nor seasoning at all in any of the food. The calamari was okay. The sauces were pretty tastes. The ceviche needed more seasoning, lemon, and salt. The chorizo had bean sauce yet no spice. That was odd. The best trying out of this place was the waitress, Kenia. She was FANTASTIC!!!

  4. This has been on my list to try for the longest. I made a walk-in reservation on Wednesday for tonight's girls night out dinner and the hostess was sweet to seat us at the benches which we had our own section. Our server Kenia greeted me first as I arrived early. As my other two chicas showed up, Kenia made a trip to our table and reintroduced herself to my company. She asked if it was our first time at Sangria which we popped our cherries tonight hehe. We got to try four samples of different fruit infused sangrias. The sister  that's drinking got rosada as I got the white peach. Since my friends couldn't eat any meat and we tried some of seafood tapas.

Tapas: Croquettes de Mariscos, Risotto Fritters, Caribbean Style Chimi Sliders (just me), Tiradito de Salmon (just my friends), Yucca Bravas, and Fried Calamari

Dessert: Pastel Tres Leches…oh boy, oh boy yummmmmmy

Great service and even at some point fist pound Kenia for the delicious food 😛

Definitely a great atmosphere and service! Its amazing to have a tapas spot in my neighborhood!

  5. This restaurant is easy to get to and easy to park near, in Eastern Queens. The decor is noticeably classy, including some eclectic furnishings in the bathrooms.
Tasty drinks, particularly the namesake sangrias (the regular is better than the slightly-stronger apricot), are a must, even for someone like me who doesn't usually indulge.
Then it's tapas: Monchego cheese, the Serrano ham, with yummy almonds and crunchy strands were a great starter. And then, you've got to get some paella from there. I suggest seafood.
We got the chicken, shrimp, squid and chorizo and all I can say is Wow.
I like calamari but usually just fried with marinara. This squid was amazing; tender and flavorful. Best I've had cooked like this.

  6. Although we were seated at the smallest spot when there were larger tables, my rating is only based on food and service. With that being said, let's get started:
Leslie was an amazing server! She offered us a sangria sampler free of charge! She was attentive and came by to make sure we were enjoying our dinner.
Prickly Pear Sangria – came with a separate shot of pear vodka! It was too strong so, I mixed it into my drink and it was sweet and dangerous: you couldn't taste the alcohol.
Risotto croquettes – with manchego cheese but the tomato dipping sauce didn't really go with it. It was great on its own.
Steak tacos – meat was smokey and the tortilla tasted homemade but wished the salsa had more heat.
Yuca Fries – came with (3) sauces: Jamaican** (loved), garlic** and adobo*
Mussels Sangria – amazing deep flavored tomato sauce with huge amounts of chorizo.
Shrimp Mofongitos – delicious but tasted too much like the mussels sangria.
Pulled pork Sliders – not Spanish at all but still juicy on a toasted brioche-like bun.
Never knew this place existed but thanks to the yelpers, found a neighborhood jewel!

  7. I came here tonight with a Groupon and it was not worth it! It boggles my mind to think that the sangria and tapas experience for 2 is regularly $90. There's no way it's worth that. Even if you get the most expensive items from the tapas menu, the watered down sangria can't compensate for the price. The glasses are tiny and filled with ice. Plus, you only get 4 glasses for 2 people. The food isn't even good. I'd rather trek to the city for better tapas.

  8. I saw my friends Snapchat the different paella pots they got and I knew I absolutely must come try it out for myself.

The clams sangria on the tapas menu [with a red wine sauce] was delicious.  You're served bread upon being seated so don't be afraid to ask for more bread to dip into the clam sauce.

The various paella on the menu are priced as per person.  If you order a paella for two, they will accommodate for the sharing and provide a bigger pot with more paella.  What I really enjoyed about the Paella Valenciana is that there were so many toppings in the paella.  I've tried paella at other places that have much more rice versus toppings but here the toppings surely overwhelm the rice and that's a spectacular thing.  The Valenciana is $23 per person, and it comes with seafood and chorizo.  I enjoyed the paella very much; it wasn't dry at all and packed an amazing flavor.

I can't wait to return and try another one or two of the other paella.
By the way, the various paella all fall in the $20-24 per person price range, if I recall correctly.
