  1. Sarku Japan sets the bar for Chicken Teriyaki. Despite the fact that it's run/operated by Chinese people, you will never have Chicken Teriyaki better than here at Sarku Japan. I also like to point out that Sarku Japan doesn't accept credit cards. Like, at all. That's probably one of my biggest peeves when it comes to eateries and yet despite all this I still give it 5 stars.

I think I've been ruined permanently by the chicken here at Sarku. Every time I see Chicken Teriyaki on a menu, it brings me back to memories of Sarku's CT. I can't help it, the chicken is just cooked that well.

Sarku makes CT with dark meat, which is a big big deal if you're a fan of the dark meat like I am. On top of it, there sauce is just different. The typical chicken teriyaki sauce is soy sauce based and overly sweet. I believe Sarku's sauce is also based off soy sauce, but it somehow comes out different. The combination of the dark meat chicken, the flat wok and the freshness of the meal comes together to give you hands down some of the best food you can have for under $7.00.

A lot of haters reviewing this joint : don't listen to any of them. Get the CT special, double meat if you really dare (only a dollar extra!) and try your best to find a seat among the baby carriages and teenagers.

  2. The sole reason I come here is for the chicken teriyaki. I usually get one order without rice (so it's just over vegetables). The meat is very tasty!

  3. I been coming here for as long as I can remember. Every time I come to the mall I get hungry, from the shopping, walking and of course just knowing there is a enormous food court right under me. As I take the escalator downstairs I think about the variety of food counters I can choice from, but once I taste that free sample on a toothpick my mind is made up. Teriyaki Chicken with white rice and steamed vegetables " $1.00 more, you get extra Teriyaki Chicken ". The Teriyaki Chicken always hits the spot full of taste and always cooked just right, the hot sauce they provide is my preferred packaged Chinese hot sauce, it spicy yet sweet and tangy perfect blend to mix with my teriyaki chicken. You can't think of this as Traditional Japanese Teriyaki, it's like thinking the local Chinese takeout spot is traditional chinese food.
This is Americanized teriyaki chicken, it's almost a Queens Center Mall tradition, once you try the free sample you will be hooked!

  4. Always great chicken teriyaki with Lo mein. Chicken has great crust. Teriyaki sauce is always on point. The Lo mein has great chew. Sometimes it can be soft but overall great!

  5. Chicken Teriyaki – everybody gets it, and it's always good.

If you order the beef or shrimp, the portion is considerably smaller, but still very good.

PLUS you get your choice of white or fried rice with lots of veggies.

Anyway it's healthier than pretty much other place in that food court.

  6. Definitely super greasy. I ask them to not use too much grease….SURE!! I wouldn't blame them if they "whatever'ed" me. ehhehe.

    I LOVE IT THOUGH.

I get the teriyaki chicken with noodles. I love noodles. They use dark meat. YUM.

And the food court is fun. I was texting to choose which videos I wanted to see…HOW FUN! And there is plenty of seating. And the bathrooms are decent.

  7. It's a mall restaurant so don't expect too much. I mean don't eat at a mall restaurant without expecting oil on your food.

    Pros:
-One of the best fast food chicken teriyaki
-I recommend getting the teriyaki (chicken, shrimp, etc) on rice. If you get it with noodles, it gets very greasy.
-Fast – they keep you moving down the line; pretty efficient

    Cons:
    -Doesn't accept credit cards
-Food is very oily/greasy – I want you to understand that it's a mall restaurant, please keep that in mind
-Long lines due to the popularity of this place
-Not the most sanitary place in the food court (look at the Sanitation Grade they have on the wall)
