Tandoori (Vegetarian) – pretty mediocre. The vegetables aren't well cooked and over spiced (not too spicy). The flavor overall is pretty lacking in the yogurt department and there is only a single piece of cheese, making the value pretty poor.
Roti bread – dry and also not very good. Maybe the naan is better, but this bread tastes old.
Black daal – flavorful, but thin and mostly filled with sauce and not really enough lentils.
Aloot chaat appetizer – the potato pancake should be served on the side of the chickpeas, as the potato becomes soggy. If a wide container was used, it could be separated.
Rice – mushy and over cooked.
I only ordered here because my favorite place is closed. This will be the last time. I'd rather buy Amy's frozen Indian food than order here again.
I was with my roomie roaming Columbus Ave at prime dinner time on a beautiful evening, and we (like everyone else) were looking for a table outside. Not easy to do, but when we found Savoury, we were seated right away at a nice little outdoor table.
The food was good, standard indian cuisine, but it wasn't spicy at all. Be sure to ask for a little extra heat if you'd like it! We split Daal, Garlic Naan, Aloo Gobi, and a bottle of Prosecco. All dishes were very flavorful and the portions were generous.
Good for standard indian food if you're in the area, but it's not a destination restaurant!
