Find myself coming to this Sbarro a lot since it is right by Penn Station where I get off the train. Sometimes I get sick of their food, sometimes I crave it. In general, it is nothing but average chain restaurant food, pizza and non-pizza items have been sitting out all day if you come later than lunchtime, some employees are really not the brightest bulbs in the box. It's tolerable and good for a quick fix, but it is definitely not good Italian food. A good example is the pasta which is often overcooked and not in the Italian al dente style. And of course, like it's similar counterpart Villa Pizza, let's not forget overpriced.
After a long night of indecisive roaming aimlessly from lounge, bar, to restaurant to night clubs my good friends and I called it a night. We came here for coffee as well as utilizing their facitlies. Low and behold to our utter shock and surprise at a late hour of a Saturday night at 11:20pm there were no coffee, no tea, no latte for late night owls. Personally, I think the pizza is awful at Sbarro's for over-priced, over-rated that is burnt and tastes like an 105 lb. card stock.
They do have mini bottles of wine and bottled beer.
Yick! Sorry. Dirty digs and sub-par fast food.
No thanks.
note to corporate,
I ordered a spinach and mushroom. when I received it it looked over cooked and old.
I wanted to order a small portion of the pasta
clerk -"we only have one size"
I went to pay and ordered a small soda
clerk – "we only have one size"
I paid in cash. The clerk then provides the change and napkins all in one! That is not sanitary!
I then asked the manager of the store why there is only one size for both and to please pass on the information to corporate. He said I am only the manager and can't change what the main office says.
Now location, you are in midtown. 34th street area. You are selling pizza, in New York!!! and your store provides a bad product. Someone should consider doing a surprise visit and witness this for yourself.
Burnt pizza that is tough enough to bend heavy duty plastic forks. Flavor would really stand out of they didn't burn it to a crisp. Employees all seem like they have attitudes. I wanted to say Happy New Years but they didn't even make eye contact. Chicken wings were good though at almost $1 / wing.
I think I have to agree with Justin P.
I go here every time I shop on 34th. Maybe it's the walking or that I've spent far more than I should, but the pizza is heavenly. It loses a star because it's crowded and after reading reports on rats in the city, I'm sure there are some 40 lbs monsters running around in the back. Fortunately, I don't shop on 34th much
