Great place for light lunch, when you go to the theater. It's is reasonable priced with good portions
Another meh. I did enjoy my grilled chicken sandwich, especially since it had brie and nobody insisted on pairing the brie with fruit. (I hate that, brie can exist on a menu without apples or whatever) Also a fan of the ciabatta bread and the arugula that was on it.
The detraction is price…for the sandwich and a fountain drink it was $12something, no fries…it was a decent size…but just a tad expensive. Knock a dollar or two off the price and I'll come back more often.
I used to work very close by and would come here periodically for lunch but hadn't been back since I changed jobs. This week was in the area and decided to stop in afterwork. The menu has a bunch more items than before including chicken sandwiches, shakes and hotdogs. They also serve beer and wine. After you order you food they give you a electronic tag (like the ones you get a red lobster when you are waiting). You leave it on the table and your food magically shows up. Their service is pretty fast and the food was good.
Cheap & cheery hamburger joint. Good for those of us who see no point in waiting in line for hourse at Shake Shack. (Psst, there are other Shake Shacks with no line in the city.) And the hamburgers are about the same quality, i.e. somewhere in between gourmet and McDonald's.
Went for my annual physical at my doctor's around the corner, so stopped in at prime lunch time for an order to-go.
Got the Schnipper's Classic and an order of Mac & Joe, which put me about $20. yikes. the burger was a good size, akin to Shake Shack although without the gut-busting lingering after effect. it was juicy and flavorful. the Mac & Joe was tiny for the price ($8.99) and a little bland, but with a dollop of tabasco it was pretty damn good.
the wait was a little long, but that may have just been because of the prime lunch time. overall, would probably eat it again, when i feel like being a baller for a burger.
Schnippers was one of my go to spots during my college days as it was good and filling food without having to really sit down in a restaurant sitting. However, it's a bit pricy (for the small portions) as my staple fried chicken sandwich is $8.99 before tax. It's juicy and fried to crispy perfection, but for half the price, you can walk not even a block to Shake Shack and most likely wait on a line for a burger at half the cost. The fries are nothing to rave home about either, as Shake Shack's crinkle fries are much better. On the bright side, you can ask for a stamp card (if your order exceeds $8) to get $10 off once you receive 10 stamps.
I dig it.
Good food.
Sometimes line is crazy but they still manage to get your food quite fast.
As a celiac, it is hard to find a good quality restaurant, but schnipper's was a lucky find! I've gone to all 3 of their locations in Manhattan and have yet to be disappointed! I usually order the tomato and mozzarella sandwich on a gluten free bun which is OUT OF THIS WORLD! The sauce is the best part! (I'm not too sure what it actually is). I generally take the spinach off it as I believe it ruins the flavor, but this location does not offer this sandwich. Their milkshakes are average. In my opinion, they are way too sweet. The sweet potato fries are perhaps my favorite. They are not too salty or oily. I recently just got the chicken tenders since this location doesn't offer my typical order, but they were really good (again not too oily). You do get a large portion, but of course it is expensive.
You do not wait long at all and the staff is very sweet and knowledgable about their own food (which is a rarity).
