First time trying this cart and I was pleased with the quality and taste of the chicken schnitzel platter which I opted to get with cucumber salad and their potato salad. I got it with a side of sriracha mayo. They have several sauces to choose from. Next time I'll try the others.
The sandwich is $8 and the platter is $10. Can't wait to try their other schnitzels.
Here a schnitzel, there a schnitzel, everywhere a schnitzel. Schnitzel!

You can't go wrong with any of the platter dishes.
My personal favorite is the chicken schnitzel, but the cod schnitzel is surprisingly a lot tastier than i had anticipated. I regret I had waited so long to try it
The vinaigrette with the Mesclun salad is excellent. No would ever describe me as a salad person, but that vinaigrette allowed me to devour it and want more.
The fries are pretty good, especially with the variety of sauces (condiments) they have. I highly recommend the "spicy sriracha mayo" and the "pesto mayo." The Chipotle sour cream is an interesting little sauce as well.
I feel that I don't get the full value if I order a sandwich. The ration of bread/meat is a little too high for me.

Solid, friendly service.

The line ranges from 5-20 minutes depending on the lunch rush and my personal experience. Add another 5-10 minutes or so to receive your food. If you go during an off-peak hour the wait is significantly less.

The schnitzel is good, but there are a few misses on the overall.
The sauces are main reason I kept on coming back as well as the vinaigrette on the mesclun salad. When the dressing spilled over into the fries, they became even better.
There were multiple instances where they ran out of chicken & pork schnitzel and occasionally the fries. I can partially understand it since I usually arrived shortly after 1pm.
If there isn't too long a line, they are worth checking out.
Finally got a hold of the truck location near my job so I dropped by to try my first schnitzel ever and it did NOT disappoint!
I got the chicken schnitzel with mixed greens and Yukon fries. The chicken breast was huge. I want to know what size bra that chicken wore because damn!! Crispy and juicy with a splash of lemon, yum. The mixed greens were a bit wilted but the dressing was good. The fries were a little salty but they were golden and crispy.
The highlight of the meal though? That garlic relish. Omg, I wanted to put that sh*t on everything.
Aside from the minor things, this was a great first time experience.
Many people at our work look forward to Thursdays just because they know that this truck will be near our office. They look out the windows to try to make sure it's there before going down en masse.
If you can get to the truck before 12:00pm, you can avoid most of the lines. It gets worse the closer you get to 1:00pm.
I have tried both the chicken schitzel platter and the cod schnitzel sandwich.
The platter was really good – huge piece of chicken with lots of dipping sauces (ask for them to give you a few). Loved the spicy creamy sauce (mayo?). You get to pick two sides. The beets with feta and the potato salad were both really good.
The sandwich was pretty good as well – a crunchy fish sandwich. Wish it came with fries or something else.
Do you like fried chicken? Of course you like fried chicken. Everyone likes fried chicken. I like fried chicken. That's why I get fried chicken every Monday when the Schnitzel & Things cart is parked up by where I work in Midtown. This is a ritual that I take a bit of shit for at work but is well worth it. I wish they had a phone line for the cart like they do for the truck, but the line usually isn't too bad. You get your food quickly after ordering unlike some food trucks (looking at you, Carl's Steaks), the staff is courteous, and given their fame, $10 for a platter is reasonable.
My go to order is the chicken schnitzel (fried chicken) with french fries, chickpeas, pesto mayo, and chipotle mayo. I used to get the beets with feta at their storefront, but alas the cart never has them. I still get the marinated chickpeas though, which are pretty pitch-perfect in terms of texture as well as flavor. Nice, bright and refreshing. The thinly pounded chicken has a batter that doesn't overpower the meat, and along with some lemon squeeze on top is good to go even without sauces. But the chipotle mayo and pesto mayo are both good, and I grab them both along with ketchup for the french fries. The fries are simple, hand cut and crispy. All of this together makes a hell of a lunch that almost makes me want to go to work on Monday. Keep parking at Random House, S&T!
Maybe I did not have high expectation.. I saw Schnitzel & Things on Groupon but I did not purchase it as the truck does not stop at the place where I work..
On the Annual food truck festival.. I also tried chicken sandwich at Schnitzel with some spicy sauce (I forgot the name).. It goes really well.. The bread was toasted warm and just perfect to enjoy.. It's not as "oily" as many other trucks.. I love this "giant sandwich".. Thank goodness I tried it with my friend and I am able to get some other food as well.. 😉
The chicken was crispy.. and as I said is not "oily".. I am not a fan of "fried" stuff.. but this chicken is pretty good to enjoy..
I like Schnitzel & things.. Not love.. if I have no other options for lunch or dinner.. I will come to Schnitzel..
Been wanting to try this food truck for ages. Never seemed to catch it at the right time.
I ordered the chicken schnitzel with cucumber salad and fries and pesto mayo. The $10 plate is a bit expensive for a food truck but you get a generous portion. The chicken was tender, the breading crispy and not too heavy, and it was properly "flattened." I was a little disappointed that the cucumber salad was chopped up pieces of cucumber rather than the thin slices, but it tasted good. Fries are nothing special, I'd skip those. The pesto mayo had too much pesto.
Good, but not great. Still, it's a decent meal for what it is. I don't know how much greater a piece of flattened breaded meat can be.
Love the Schnitz. Truck was at 47th and Park yesterday. I ordered the pork Schnitz platter with French fries, sauerkraut and chipotle mayo. Outstanding as always and after two no line. The schnitzel was a tasty piece of pork pounded thin and lightly breaded. The sauerkraut was uber fresh and yummy. Fries were good as well. My only complaint was not enough mayo. Still I highly recommend if you like schnitzel. For $10 it's a massive lunch deal.
