Schout Bay Tavern
“Duck tacos for a app and steak with chimichanga next time we come here, we are trying the dessert cause they all looked good”
“Their mac and cheese is made with real ingredients, meaning real cheese, real cream, etc. The kung pao broccoli was actually broccoli rabe but tasted right out of an Asian market.”
“We had burgers, chicken, Caesar salad, mac & cheese, broccoli, Brussels sprouts & shrimp-cargot, all were excellent.”

Great burger! Stopped in for a late brunch. Smartly appointed space, with dark woods and booths as well as tables in the back. Staff was very friendly, service was quick, Bloody Mary was right on, and food was excellent. They have a creative menu. Looking forward to return for dinner, but was warned they do get a crowd on the weekends. No reservations! Great addition to local eateries. Give it s shot.
Dinner lived up to recent brunch. Kung pao broccoli was tasty and spicy the way I like it. (Ours was basic broccoli, not broccoli rabe) burger delivered again. Service was friendly and prompt, and overall good vibe.
Came here at opening on a Saturday, before our 7:00 cooking class at Sur la Table (fun!) Was seated in a booth right away. Service was quick, food came out of the kitchen quickly despite the place filling up fast. I had a salmon spread special, which was … okay. It was advertised as "like bagels with lox", except that the salmon was more cooked than raw, which IMO is weird when cold. The toast was very good, though. My wife got the wild mushroom flatbread special, and while she thought it was passable, I liked it a lot. I got a side of falafel, which was fresh, but could have used more seasoning. A Manhattan with brandied cherries (love) was served on the rocks, I wasn't asked (I would have preferred it neat). But note – four stars. I supposed I'm going over in my head all the ways in which I didn't like the place, since my overall impression and takeaway was that I actually liked the place very much. I know, it doesn't sound like it. Let's put it this way – if I find myself in Manhasset, or take another SLT cooking class, I would definitely come back to Schout Bay for a second go.
Came here with a party of 8 girlfriends on a Saturday night, it was packed! Definitely the new manhasset scene, but more importantly the food was fantastic. Since the wait was a little long to be seated, we got drinks at the bar and the service was fantastic. Drinks are extremely pricey though. $12 for a glass of wine. Our server was extremely friendly and cool and he gave us free fries. I got the kettle chips and the burger, AMAZING. The burger is huge and I'm sad that I didn't finish it, but it was one of the best I've ever had. This is a special place and I hope it does well because Manhasset needs it. I would just like to come back on a quieter night, I wouldn't recommend coming on a Saturday night unless you're trying to party hard and see a lot of old acquaintances.
