  1. Solid old school wine store.  The selections covers all price points and the staff really knows a lot about wines.  They don't just say here's the Wine Spectator rating and want to know what foods you will be pairing the wine with which is a nice touch.  I will come here more often know that I am in the area.

  2. Pretty much agree with what everyone else said. They are very helpful and nice. They never push expensive wine on me. There is always a big lazy dog laying in the middle of the floor giving the place a good vibe. I work in the neighborhood and they open the earliest – 9 am on weekdays in case you need an emergency mimosa. They also seem to have almost every single white bottle on ice ready to go. No complaints!

  3. My most recent experiences have not been as good as my first.  Perhaps they specialize in large orders etc. and therefore aren't as focused on walk in business but I have found their selection of common types of wines to be limited and the employees to be inflexible.  They don't carry Muscadet or any, relatively, dry Rieslings (which you can pretty much find at any other wine store; Sherry Lehman carries four types of Muscadet, on the extreme end).  I asked for a dry white and the guy there referred me to a relatively very sweet Chinon Blanc.

  4. Old school where Schumer's Wine withstands the passage of time of good prices and value added customer service without computerized sale receipts, without walkie-talkies, all without the snobbish sketchy sales associate vibe.  By referral of a colleague to venture Schumer's Wine for one bottle to join the merriment of a good poet friend's "Bing Crosby for Goodfellas & Mad Men."  Amid the holiday hustle and bustle, I was immediately greeted and inquired if I were in need of assistance.  One associate pointed from behind the register to fulfill my budget's needs for Stonehedge 2008 California Cabernet Sauvignon at $10.90, which old school produces a hand written sales receipt.  Their registers are pre-computerized.  Old school values of knowledgeable, friendly and sprightly eager associates who are sincerely willing to serve customers are sharp professional business tactics, where coming from FIVE solid years of a retail employment environment myself, is such a pleasure to patronize and truly enjoyable.

Bereft of my precious love where all I desire is a spoonful of his presence, I'd take the fluid entity of a good wine that is delightful and delicious.
