Good solid food every time. I love their eggs and the sausage they use. We frequent this place where we are in the area. I have liked everything I have ordered. They also make this salmon salad. That's another favorite menu item of mine. Service is good. This is our favorite go to dinner in this area.
My friends and I went here for dinner on a Saturday night. It was six of us – ranging in age from mid-late twenties to early-mid thirties. Not exactly a waitress's ideal table. We received the best service ever. The waitress was very attentive, she brought over a pot of coffee for us and filled it three times, making sure our cups were never empty. One of the entrees was late coming out – because she caught that it was made incorrectly and had the kitchen redo it.
The food was nothing too amazing – it's diner food, after all. But the service was some of the best I've ever received – diner or otherwise.
I don't go to diners for seafood, steaks, meatloaf, triple decker sandwiches or mile high pies. For me, there is only one meal to be had-Lox and onion omelette, well done home fries and rye toast with a good cup of coffee. I've had this very same meal at dozens of diners throughout New Jersey. From the horrifically bad to mighty fine.
The omelette and home fries here were terrific. The omelette was flavorful and the home fries were crisp. My son had some really good chicken and fries.
Only downside was our server looked like she was bored out of her mind. No service with a smile for us.
Nice diner. Glad we stopped by.
I've been here twice now and haven't been fully satisfied on both occasions. I'll tell you why.
SERVICE: Subpar to OK.
Coffee refills were on point so that was OK. It took a handful of minutes for the waitress to get to our table, then a handful of minutes to order our food. Myself and my friend had both ordered toast that was included with our meals. The waitress noticed when we didn't receive the toast, and said she'd get some but never wound up bringing any. Welp.
FOOD: OK
It's a diner, and I order breakfast. It's pretty hard to screw that up. My (scrambled) eggs were significantly runny and under-cooked on the bottom side. If it's an overeasy or sunnyside up I don't mind the yolk running but not for scrambled eggs. And then there was a piece of bacon my friend ordered that was just a huge chunk or weird looking fat. That's on the cook to throw that piece out if it's one that's not edible. Make a good judgement call there, buddy.
PRICE
Typical for a diner, it's not one of the more expensive diners. Pretty much on point with the pricing.
It's not nearly the worst diner, but it's not one that I would choose to be a frequent patron at.
I was in the neighborhood at a local car wash so we decided to stop in. I was immediately seated and a very friendly waitress came over and took our drink order and brought us coffee to start. It was fresh and hot.
The breakfast menu was easy to read not 2o pages long like some diners, and we were able to make our choice very quickly.
I ordered the farmer's omelette . Three eggs, sausage, potatoes and American cheese. It also was served with home fries and I got rye toast. My husband ordered Taylor ham egg and cheese on a hard roll with fries.(This is Jerzee after all and it is a must when ordering diner food in the am or late at night!!)
Our waitress bought our food out fairly quickly. She was very attentive replenished our coffee right away. Continually asked if we needed anything.
I appreciated that when I asked for Splenda she bought it.
My omelette was large, but i would have preferred it a little less dry. My rye toast was lightly browned and buttered, and the home fries were crisp.
The service was 4 stars
The atmosphere and cleanliness 4 stars
The food 3 stars
If I could give them 3.5 Stars then I would. Food and service was good, but nothing special.
I like how this place looks like a old school diner in every way. Such a huge selection of desserts, which we would have gotten some before we left. Came here with about 6 other people to have brunch before we left for the airport.
We were seated pretty quickly, nice, friendly waitress. Everyones drinks came out quick too.
The menu here is like a book, way too big, too much stuff to sort through. A lot of greek items, which is nice.
Three of the guys got the California Burger ($5.95), now being I was born and for the most part raised in CA, I was a little offended by the toppings…a bell pepper ring slice, a thin old, dry, carrot slice, a huge cucumber slice, tomato, onion, iceberg lettuce and a kalamata olive…there is literally no where in California that serves that combo of toppings on a burger. No where. The guys all took the toppings off the burger, it was still a huge and delicious looking burger. Cooked to order. The man got the Cordon Bleu Burger with Virginia Ham & Melted Swiss Cheese ($7.35). He very much enjoyed his huge burger, looked really good.
I got the Potato Pancakes with bacon, sour cream and applesauce from the specials menu.
The bacon was crispy, the pancakes were dense but good. Not super hot but warm. The applesauce they serve with is sweetened…which I thought was odd but whatever.
The kids cup had a picture on it that the seven year old who was with us thought was weird and she did not like it…we thought a little inappropriate for a childs cup. I like the style of the booths and the whole decor. All the desserts looked wonderful but we didn't have any. There was a big cookie that came with the childs meal, it was HUGE, also stale…although she didn't mind.
If we come here again I will be sure to try the Greek food and lots of desserts.
The food here is very bland and basic. The service was mediocre and the cleanliness of the diner bothered me. It wasn't very clean and the staff seemed to ignore it. If you aren't ready to order right away your server will take a really long time just to come back to your table. I wouldn't recommend this place. Especially when there are so many other better options for diners in the area.
We had breakfast here a couple of months back and really liked this diner. Tonight, we went back and it was the complete opposite experience.
The food was okay, albeit the onion rings which were the worst we have ever eaten. Ore Ida frozen onion rings would be considered far superior to these. The service was blah. A diner should not have to request more drinks when the server is at our table with empty glasses in view.
I know this is no fault of the restaurant, but there was a table of extremely loud, rude, obnoxious diners that made our experience uncomfortable. We felt for the families with children having to listen to the 5 minute rant about "titties" and F bomb laced conversation. However, in further thought the mgmt could have asked the table to cool it.
We will not be back.
