haven't spent that much time in the other areas but the back section on French wines is great. have stayed mostly in the Rhone and have purchased a few bordeax's and wines from the chateaneauf de pape -regions for reasonable prices ($25-50). nice selections….
Scotto's is a wonderful liquor store (not just wine, as the name implies!). They stock a lot of products from local wineries and distilleries. This includes (but is definitely not limited to): Brooklyn Oenology, Breuckelen Gin, and whoever makes that Court Street wine).
When we were there, one of the founders from Breuckelen Gin was in the back giving out samples of their gin, whiskey, and gin/whiskey blends. All delicious and worth trying if you're a fan of either type of liquor. he was super friendly, and it was a good environment for a tasting (though not a lot of room in the back).
Other than that, the shop has a great selection of wine and gin. Though, I will say that their whiskey selection could use some help. Maybe I just overlooked it, but they really didn't have that much in the way of mid-top shelf bourbon.
Worth going to if it's on your way or if you live nearby!
