  1. Loved this soul food began spot, located in Harlem. The food is healthier versions of comfort food yet without compromising the flavor.

  2. This is an all vegan place. They do have specials. The interior has warm ambiance.

I came here for dinner on a Sunday evening. If you come late, they will run out of some of the appetizers. We wanted the stuffed avocado but they were out. I ordered the nuggets comes with two sauces. The nuggets hace very good seasoning.

Entrees ordered:  special of day – BBQ riblets, sweet potato, collard greens
    Fish stake Mac cheese, fries

The food was very good, but felt very heavy after the meal.

They had flowers by the window but they are fake.

I would go back by would skip the fried items and try the raw items. I feel very heavy after the meal.

Our hostess was standoffish and not very friendly. The other hostess seemed more friendly.

  3. Yay for places like Seasoned Vegan, which is revolutionizing vegan food forever!  They have delicious platters of your favorite vegan foods – I chose crawfish and my friend had chicken.  Our side dishes were curly fries and mac and cheese – which can obviously be made vegan easily and resemble its non-vegan counterparts.

However, I must commend them on how they flavor and cook their "meats"!  Definitely putting the season in "seasoned vegan" and taking back the "tastelessness" many people perceive vegan and vegetarian food to be.  The crawfish reminded me of a fish cake and the chicken, well it tasted very closely to chicken!  It even pulled apart like chicken, but it wasn't chicken.

I also had their vegan icecream (which I think is just the vegan Ben & Jerry's).  The vanilla apparently tasted like coconut milk.  If you don't like coconuts, I would highly recommend getting the Praline Crunch.  It has pecans in it and tastes a little like coffee and caramel together.  I'm not a fan of coffee but I dig it!  Overall good price, $20 per person with dessert.

  4. Okay so let me start by saying that I'm not vegetarian or vegan. However, I wanted to try something different than what I'm used to. The menu consisted of many soy based foods, a variety of sides, and raw foods. Now I've heard that the raw burger is delicious, so if I was going to eat here again I would definitely get that.

As for what I ordered, it was pretty mediocre. I had the soy chicken nuggets for an appetizer, the soy crawfish with sweet potatoes and Mac and cheese for the entree, and the pecan cookie for dessert. I also had their house sangria as my drink. The pecan cookie and sangria were both delicious. I wasn't a fan of the chicken nuggets or the crawfish. Although they were seasoned well, I couldn't get past the texture of either of those dishes. So if you are used to eating meat, the textures of those dishes might be a little difficult to eat. The vegan Mac and cheese was pretty good. It wasn't baked mac and cheese, which I prefer, but it was tasty. I couldn't even tell the difference. I probably wouldn't order the sweet potatoes again, but my friends ordered the broccoli and said it was delicious.

The place is quaint, and the service was great. It was a little hot in there, so dress comfortably if you're going on hot day.

  5. I have been very excited to try this place which opened by my office, but just made it for brunch on Saturday. Bright and cheerful inside, and I loved the purple linen napkins. Service was good, not amazing but fine. And my husband and I both loved the food. I got the old fashioned pancakes with chicken drumsticks, which were delicious (if not the healthiest choice.) My husband got the Nefertiti salad with fried chicken, which I took the liberty of tasting. It was ridiculously good and next time I go I think I will have to get it. They were out of the salted pecan chocolate chip cookies, but we split a spiced chocolate cupcake and praline crunch ice cream for dessert. The cupcake was good, although I have had better vegan cupcakes, but the ice cream was fabulous!! For drinks we got mimosas since it was brunch — I prefer my mimosa with a higher champagne to juice ratio (this seemed just like OJ) but next time I will just try the sangria. Also the bathroom was cute – I liked the pressed leaves on the wall. They also had stroller parking, which seemed like a nice feature for families. I will definitely be back!

  6. Let start out by saying that I am not vegan however after eating here I think I very well could be!  Right when we walked in we were immediately greeted and seated.  The atmosphere is very laid back and tastefully done without being too much.  The music matches the low key vibe here and the only thing out of control here are the flavors and that alone makes me want to come back.  I don't write a whole lot of five star reviews but the food here is amazing.  We ordered the sangria which had a cinnamon flavor to it that really made it pop….why don't I think of things like that?!?!  Moving on we ordered the vegan nuggets which were seasoned very well with two sauces to die for.  Also we ordered the stuffed avocado which was great with the pistachios nuts inside.  For the main entree we got the crawfish and after tasting this dish I knew I picked a winner!  The flavors were amazing and it actually tasted like real southern crawfish!  I met the very friendly owner at the end who is usually always there and told him what an amazing restaurant he had!  This place is definitely worth trying whether you are vegan or not…..thank me later!

  7. I heard great things about Seasoned Vegan, and my expectations were exceeded. The brunch specials are $15, and unlike any other vegan cuisine in NYC. This is the only place you can get hearty authentic plant based soul food, that won't make you feel like garbage.

I went with the crawfish, which came with grits and mixed vegetables. Everything was perfectly cooked, and the crawfish was flavorful and had great texture. Perfect healthy portion size. I ate a bite of my friend's Mac and cheese, which was some of the best I have ever tasted. For dessert my friends and I shared the cupcake ice cream sandwich-praline ice cream between two halves of a red velvet cupcake. SO delicious and unique, and large enough to share.

Beautiful atmosphere with lots of natural light. Waitress with the tube socks was lovely and attentive. All major credit cards accepted.

  8. The staff was incredibly friendly but the location is small and the food was only sub par. I tried a few things and split them with friends so I had a good idea of what multiple items tasted like. Nothing stood out as memorable. I haven't been dying to go back. As a vegetarian who often seeks out vegan restaurants, I'm open to exploring the menu and being a loyal customer if things are good, but I haven't been back since. I'm sure this place is okay for some but I've been to a lot better vegan joints.
