  1. I highly, HIGHLY, recommend Serafina!

I can't say enough positive things about this restaurant. Food was excellent, and some of the best Italian food I had recently.

I had the Fettuccine All' Aragosta and it was just delicious. The lobster and the fettuccine went perfectly together. My wife had a pasta dish with shrimp and it was even better than mine (yes, I was jealous).

For dessert, we had the Crêpes Alla Nutella With Grand Marnier and it was amazing!!! Very different variation of a crepe, but I couldn't get enough of it. I want to go back just for that.

I really liked Serafina, and I'm glad we decided to try it. Can't wait to go back.

  2. This place suffers in comparison versus the other Serafina down the street.  The service was brisk and efficient but the quality of the pasta on offer here does not make me want to return.

We had the pennette with vodka sauce and the plain old spaghetti with marinara sauce.  For whatever reason I want to think the pasta came out of a box as it was just not that fresh.

Prices are fairly reasonable as the pasta dishes range from $14 to $24 or so.  Even with that in mind, we wished we had just stayed across the street and had gone to Lavo instead to pay $10 more for higher quality.

    Pass.

  3. I'm a fan of the original Serafina on the west side so I was pretty disappointed when I went to this location for lunch the other day. The menu was unimaginative – I usually expect creative creations on salad and pasta dishes at Italian restaurants, especially when you've got the name Serafina behind you. Most of the pasta dishes were just pasta with sauce – no mention of protein or veggies in their dishes. In an effort to be healthy, I went for a salad special – however the salad my colleague and I ordered (arugula, beets, goat cheese) was boring and not at all what I expected. Furthermore, instead of goat cheese, we were given blue cheese. Service was good so I feel bad giving them a sub-par review but I have to be honest.

  4. pasta, pretty good.
    prices, not so good.
    atmosphere, pretty good.
    service, good.
    overall, good.
    didn't blow me away.

  5. Great spot for a quick business lunch that caters to omnivores, vegetarians, pescatarians and carnivores alike.

It's a small menu but I almost prefer that. Started with their prosciutto and melon, the melon was crisp and sweet and balanced nicely by the salty bite of prosciutto. Their housemade fettuccine and bolognese was hearty but not overly sit in your gut heavy. Ended the meal with their deliciously light Tiramisu. Service was very attentive and warm as well and though the space is small, I like that they didn't overcrowd the space with too many tables to make you feel like your sitting onto of your fellow diners.

  6. The Paglia Fieno here is to die for! Also the pizza is pretty good. This is a great mid-range, more upscale place for lunch. Excellent location and modern vibe. No complaints about this place so far.

  7. Fantastic food. Portions looked really tiny when they came out, but I was actually really content by the time I finished. Got here around 12.15 on a weekday and by the time we left it was a bustling madhouse.

Guess it's a popular spot with the midtown crowd for lunch… and quite rightly so.

  8. I had a craving for a steaming bowl of pasta while in Midtown. This place delivered. I also had a lovely green salad.

This is located in one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the city, yet has a down to earth, simple decor and delivers delicious food. I highly recommend for people wanting a flavorful, unpretentious dining experience.
