Sessanta Ristorante
“We ordered a bunch of items like the fritto misto, kale salad, tuna cruda but the star of the night was the TIMBALLO DI ZANGHI.”
“I had a tuna crudo to start and a tortelli Pasta, which was delicious and filling for me…but probably not for a guy.”
“We split the tagghiarini which is definitely not to be missed – it was awesome.”

We had dinner here with a large group and it was a very nice experience. The waitress was super attentive and on her toes and the Saturday night vibe is pretty cool. I tried quite a few things on the menu as we did a lot of sharing but the standout is definitely the Tuna Crudo as appetizer, Ravioli as the main and So Fresh So Clean to wash it all down. Great time from what I remember after a few 🙂
Nothing special. We were forced to eat here as a package with the chopper service Blade for Valentines Day.
The server had no clue what the pre-fixe menu was and was of no help.
There was no offer of any substitutes and we dealt with it.
Food was just ok. Place was busy but not memorable. Would not return unless forced.
Tables were small and cramped.
Solid Italian spot.
I stopped by on a weekend evening with a friend, and we split the meatballs to start, which were decent but nothing memorable. My entree was the lamb ragu tagghiarini, which was also very good. Nothing too exciting, but the dish was well executed and fairly tasty. Drinks were well executed as well.
It's a nice spot, not too loud or crowded, and with decent service, and while it's not super cheap, it's fairly adequately priced and very reasonable. Wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again, but would come back again if in the area for a slightly more upscale Italian meal in the area.
Wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be based on all the noise I was hearing about this place. Definitely a beautiful venue but the food felt very mediocore.
Service was great with great attention to our table from multiple servers but the food just didn't impress.
BLOOD ORANGE SALAD – shaved fennel, black olives, pecorino. This was light and refreshing but left something to desire. RAVIOLI – burrata, almond pesto, mint, lemon zest didn't feel like anything special. BURRATA – herbed olive oil, grilled country bread Average dish that can be a basic on a menu. Should just be eliminated since it lacks any excitement or originality. BEET & SQUASH SALAD – stracciatella, radicchio, pumpkin seeds. This was a bit more desirable to eat but still not the most exciting dish.
Dessert was to be had for sure since we were celebratinga birthday. We tried everything on the menu and the best was the PISTACHIO CAKE – chocolate ganache, pistachio ice cream.
The MAPLE CARAMEL BUDINO – whipped cream, praline crisp was way to sweet but definitely enjoyed the textures. The HAZELNUT TART – with poached pears was unique and flavorful. The BLOOD ORANGE SORBET was a great way to end everything. It freshened up our pallets and was light.
Overall, not a spot I would recommend for someone in town visiting but maybe a place to just check out if you lived in NYC. The vibe is great and the feel is very trendy.
Starting with the positive; The place is truly beautiful and perfectly located. The coffee was also pretty good.
Now the negative; I was not impressed at all by the food.. I had the brunch frittata and it was ok, but tiny and coldish. My friend had the steak and she said it was chewy. Moreover, it was only accompanied by a piece of lettuce.
Well, maybe it's because brunch is still a new thing there.. I don't know about dinner, but surely brunch isn't their thing.
I went to sessanta for my friend's birthday on Saturday night. We had a reservation and they sat us right away. They have a nice wine list with many different wines, from different regions. The dinner menu is also great. They have so many things I would love to try. The food here was excellent. We shared a bunch of appetizers like the sausage meatballs, braised octopus, and the sessanta board. They were all delicious. For dinner, I had the tagghiarini pasta, which was pasta with lamb ragu, basil and baked ricotta salata. I loved it. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and it had a lot of flavor. My friend had the skirt steak, which I tried and it was great. Everyone really enjoyed their entrees. The service was also excellent. The server was very attentive and accommodating. I can't wait to return!
It's nice to have space while you eat! Great meatballs and crudo for apps. Wonderful pastas (linguini garlic and olive oil, ravioli with mint is genius, and simple spaghetti with tomato) that aren't complicated but very satisfying. Dessert was also top notch and I discovered a new amazing thing: crema alla manna. It's kind of like speculoos/cookie butter except not as sweet and made from the sap of an ash tree. It comes in a cream puff: DELISH. Pistachio cake is also great. Service: professional and attentive.
Since I was impressed by restaurant week dinner, I suggested to return for brunch. Unfortunately Sessanta delivered a completely different, unpleasant experience.
By focusing on the foods alone, it was enough to drive us away.
Baked eggs with seasonal veggies and sausage – highly recommended by our waitress and in fact her fav item on the menu – I was craving savory but I got straight up salt. One dimensional in flavor therefore I had to douse it in hot sauce to make it more tolerable.
Frittata – "are frittatas ever supposed to be cold?" I could tell my friend was just being polite and quietly stomached her meal. Especially since I was the one to recommend this place.
Hanger steak – "very chewy and kinda cold". since we were the only patrons in the restaurant, not quite sure why all the foods came out lukewarm or cold. The "salad" consisted of a few pieces of greens tossed as garnish served on top of the steak. Far from an actual "side".
Fries – Since the "salad" wasn't substantial as a side. My friend wanted to order the fries. Unfortunately our waitress was no where to be found and fries weren't ordered until half way through the meal. Fries eventually became dessert. Crispy and not one bit oily. Best bite of the day.
Overall – so unimpressed by brunch. Definitely not Sessante's forte.
