This Italian deli/butcher is a great spot in an area with a least 4 other similar style delis. They have fresh prepared food. Ready to go meals and salads. Lots to choose from. Also, if you wanna cook they offer a nice selection of meats, breads, olives and cheeses. I would highly recommend a stop in especially if you are a fan of the A&S deli down the road. it's a toss up for me in regards to quality of homemade food.
I just picked up some sandwiches from here today for my wife and I. I have heard good things about this place. I ordered two heros, one with eggplant, roasted peppers, and fresh Mozzarella. One hero with grilled chicken, broccoli rabe, sun dried tomatoes, and fresh mozzarella. The chicken hero was good. The eggplant was awful. The eggplant is sliced paper thin, but it's covered in bread crumbs and that's all you taste. Plus, the breading was very salty. That hero was a total loss, we threw it out after 3 bites. The store looks like it has some good stuff to offer besides the sandwiches. On a negative note, the woman working behind the counter was goofing off quite a bit and cursing jokingly at some of the other employees. It's all fun and games, but there were a few children in there at the time and work is never the place for that. I'll be sticking to my regular Italian market.
Great deli. Grew up in Oceanside and frequented this place regularly. Go with the 7 Brothers Hero. Grilled chicken, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers and balsamic vinegar on fresh italian bread. Delish. The service is great. The prepared foods and deli meats are excellent. Check it out en route to the beach or if you're in the area. You won't regret it.
Seven Brothers is another one of Long Island's superb Italian grocery stores.
One of Seven Brothers' specialities is its deli. They make outstanding heroes and hero platters. The bread is fresh, and the deli meats are cut right there on the spot. I highly recommend Seven Bros for a sandwich if that's what you're craving while in the area.
This place is a one stop shop for all your Italian favorites. If my wife didn't know how to cook good I would be getting lots of stuff there.
I came in because I was craving a hero. So I ordered a pepperoni, ham, turkey lettuce tomatoes extra onions mayo mustard and American. And everything was on there just like I asked. Perfect amount of everything and he actually put extra onions. Most places say yeah and never put extra of anything just the same amount. The mustard was perfect not that cheap frenches.
Next time I will grab one of each of there 7 different variety of balls. Potato, Mac n cheese , prosciutto and other types.
They had plenty of remade sauces rolls strombolies.
I will def be back again.
