“The food is great (hummus, kebabs, anything with yoghurt-based sauce), the service is good and the prices are very good for UWS.”
“The dolma (grape leaves) are incredible at this restaurant as they are moist and have a satisfying mix of nuts inside.”

Came here for lunch, the service was just ok, the gyro plate was small but in their advantage the lamb gyro meat was truly excellent!
I came here for a pre-show dinner and was glad I did! The place is intimate and cozy. Service was excellent.
1. Zucchini pancakes: these were quite yummy. You get four large pieces, perfect to share among four people. They are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. If you love zucchini, this is a must get.
2. Chicken kebab and gyro combo: part of the menu has convos with different permutations of things you want to try. It makes the decisions easier somewhat. The food is solid. I still wish the chicken were a little juicier but it was overall pretty good.
3. Stuffed cabbage: I love cabbage. These are basically like 4 spring rolls but with cabbage on the outside and ground meat and I think potatoes on the inside. The dipping sauce is great. It's not a huge fish, but it does the trick.
They were super nice and let me leave my to-go food with them until after the show and pick up then.
Had the prix fixe lunch for $13 on 5/2/13. You choose an appetizer, I had the salad, which was okay, nothing to rave about and the Adana kebab (ground lamb that looks like it was extruded and grilled) It was hot and sizzling and spiced very nicely. You get a small side of rice and 3 different cabbage slaws on the plate. The menu has pictures of what you're ordering and the funny thing is that pics showed large plates of food, and the actual food you get are like miniature versions of what you see. However, it was enough food to satisfy lunch hunger. You also get to choose a free beverage, red/white wine, or turkish tea or regular ice tea. Not a bad deal for UWS. Restaurant was empty when we got there ll:15am, and only two other tables were occupied by the time we left. Restaurant has A rating. Waitress was accommodating, except, when I asked for butter, they do not have, but was offered olive oil instead. No complaints here.
Wonderful early Friday dinner. Attentive & pleasant service. Gentle music allowed for easy conversations. Lamb shank & kebab perfectly prepared.
We had take out last night. The food was really good. We got Lamb doner, kofta kebab which both come with white rice, green salad and hot & yogurt sauces. We also got mix appetizer. While we were waiting in the restaurant for the food they gave us a complimentary Turkish tea… was so good.
I feel bad writing this on the basis of one meal… But they've been here forever and to judge by the volume of takeout business, one "I won't be coming here again" review won't hurt them.
So the people are really nice. But the mixed appetizer plate was horrible. Terrible hummus, crappy weird focaccia bread (really not worth the carbs or calories), inedible bitter eggplant dish, okay white bean salad, and okay but not very good eggplant.
This is basic stuff for a Turkish place. It took forever but they were slammed with to go orders so that's no big thing.
But I cannot forgive BAD BREAD. I ate at a Turkish grill in Queens a month ago and it was off the hook great.
Also this place is pricey. Really pricey for meat and the appetizers vary but if they are all as disappointing as this, too much money.
I should have gone to Gray's Papaya. The only reason I ate here was that Aroma closed 15 minutes early (God I hate it when a kitchen closes before closing time).
Very disappointing but I ate almost nothing all day so I ate enough not to be starving and will toss the rest out.
Turco in Hell's Kitchen is amazing and not as expensive. There's also one on the Upper East Side in the mid-70s. I'd rather go to Queens, Hell's Kitchen, or the UES though it's on 2nd I think and I'm off Lex, for this kind of food.
I will not return. Next time I am starving on 72nd Street I will just get a hot dog.
This was excellent takeout. The lamb was lovely as were the various appetizers. It was hot and carefully packaged to and on time. We had our picnic so to speak w beer.
Seven's Turkish Grill serves authentic and delicious Mediterranean food. I find myself ordering takeout from here at least every other week. As a vegetarian, my favorite meal is the okra dinner and I also love the Mediterranean salad. The restaurant itself is very nice – warm, inviting, and convenient for groups. I often bring family and friends to Seven's when they visit and they never disappoint.
