  1. Great lunch specials for their new opening ($8 Monday to Friday for their tofu soonduboos). I love that they have tofu noodles here!!! New twist on soon du bu. The tofu itself is soft … softer than the ones at BCD which is good but I think the taste at BCD wins over SGD. They serve the leftover rice here in the hot plate without water in it so you can create your own crunchy FAN JEW (the crispy rice bottom) !!!! It's great because it's super crispy and yummy! The five sides were fresh and can be replenished when asked. The meat and tofu combos are about $3-4 more than the specials at BCD, but the SGD specials don't stop at a certain time, so that great!! The meat was fresh and the bulgolgi was seared rather than cooked in a sweet soup at BCD. The kalbi was awesome too. You can really taste that the meat was marinating….WILL GO AGAIN!

  2. I am so excited that there is a new soondubu tofu stew restaurant in the area and especially so because this place turned out to be awesome.

The prices are great and there seems to be a slightly larger variety of stew options, as far as tofu stews go.  They also have a tofu stew with noodle selection which I find incredible.  I tried the noodle stew and it is HUGE; it comes with plenty of noodles and just as much tofu to go with it.  If you order the tofu stew by itself, it still comes with a rice and it turns out you get almost 2x the amount of rice as what the other restaurants have to offer.
[FYI, when ordering the soondubu noodles, it comes with more than one kind of noodle option so you'd normally have to decide what kind of noodles you want.  I wasn't sure what to try so the waiter recommended trying the hand-pulled noodles like the one in the menu picture.  When in doubt, just ask for the noodles in the picture].

The seafood pancake was also very good.

There are also the appetizer side dishes that are also good and plentiful.  The waiter was kind enough to bring out another serving as we finished them without us asking for more.

The establishment itself is still very clean and spacious after opening just a few months ago.  The waiters are very polite and will help you as best as they can with the options on the menu.

If at any point it appears to be temporarily a little busy, it doesn't appear there are that many waiters so be patient if you're having difficulty at that moment flagging down a waiter.

I'm excited to try out the other dishes this place has to offer.  This has certainly become my new go-to spot for soondubu.

  3. Yes!! Finally a soondubu place that is yummy and fresh in flushing! Now I don't need to trek all the way to bayside for BCD.
They have a small parking lot here for maybe 2-3 cars max. It's a shared parking lot with another restaurant next door. They also have street parking available.
The soondubu prices are relatively cheap ($9.99) and its big enough to fill you up.
The water they give you here is the Korea barley tea water which is always a plus if you don't like the taste of tap water.
I came with my family and we had the seafood pancake, marinate pork bulgogi, clam soondubu, oyster soondubu, seafood soondubu and LA galbi.
It was a ton of food and I ended up taking most home for lunch hehe
The seafood pancake was delicious. Usually I like to dip in the soy sauce but this one had enough flavoring that I didn't need to dip in the sauce.
The soondubu were all very fresh and the tofu soft and melts in your mouth. It tastes clean and honestly I couldn't tell the difference between here and BCD.
The LA galbi had a lot of flavoring and the meat is tender. The pork bulgogi was also saucy and delicious.
The servers were very attentive and would also fill up our water and be near by the tables
All in all, I had a pretty good experience here. I'm really glad they opened near where I live!

  4. I have to admit that I wasn't expecting much when I passed by this place a numerous amount of times. However, I decided to give it a try yesterday because I just wanted to get out of the wind & misty rain blowing into my face and I'm truly happy that I did. To start off, I really was impressed by the interior. It was very spacious, with more than enough space in between tables as to maintain privacy and uncomfortable feelings whilst sitting next to strangers (so that you can take your photos of your food in peace hahah). My boyfriend and I wasn't very hungry so we opted for the spicy pork & combination soondooboo combo ($18!) The side dishes that come out are pretty limited especially when you're comparing it to how many side dishes you are served at Korean restaurants elsewhere. Two of the side dishes- the oden & the spicy pickled cucumbers were both just so indescribably good that I really couldn't complain about the lack of "bahnchahn". Furthermore, the food was delicious- both the pork & the soondooboo. They were both incredibly fresh (potentially the reason why the food took a tad bit longer?) Ultimately, I would never just walk by this place again just to go eat somewhere else. The food was pretty cheap and filling & the only con that I have to mention is that this place didn't have Sprite. They actually had to walk across the street to the deli to buy a can of Sprite for us + (I took away a star for the service. Not one waiter/ waitress came to our table while we were eating to check up on us, which is definitely a first).

  5. the food is on point! Kalbi was delicious and so was the soondubu noodles with beef. they are so nice here. They filled all our side dishes again without asking and it spacious. There's parking up front but very limited.

  6. Had the clam soon dubu chigae which could've been spicier. Dol sot  bap was authentic.
