  1. Coming here is like going back in time. The donuts are amazing. The decor is…something special. There have a few bar seats, but most people take their donuts to go.

Get out of the epic line at Dough or Donut Plant and use that time to come here.

  2. Very simple place on a busy Brooklyn street (then again, which street ISN'T busy in Brooklyn).  Parking was quite difficult.  I ran in to try grab some of their donuts as there were plenty of positive reviews on Yelp.

Not disappointed at all.  As i have mentioned in a previous donut review, I am by no-means a connoisseur of donuts but these were pretty good.  My powdered donut was delicious with just the right amount of jelly filling (I absolutely hate it when they cram a lot of filling in and it spills all over when a bite is taken).  Not overly filling.  Definitely worth a trip again when in the Coney Island area.  Reasonable prices.

Its a diner as well- but I thing people go mostly for the donuts.

  3. My co-worker bought some donuts from this place for a meeting we were having. JESUS THESE WERE THE BEST DOUGHNUTS IVE EVER HAD!! I grabbed a jelly doughnut and i wasn't expecting much. BUT Jesus! These doughnuts melt in your mouth. They are pillowy, and soft, and they have just the right amount of powdered sugar. It wasn't a lot of powdered sugar which I appreciated. The jelly inside was very good and not too much jelly, just the right amount. I live too far from this place but need to figure out a way to get me some more of these doughnuts. They were delicious!! Now I need to go work out.

  4. it's amazing that great local places like this are still around today given all of the chain restaurants taking hold in the city. the donuts here are so fresh and tasty. so much better than dunkin. you can get a dozen donuts here (a bakers dozen) for $5.50. would recommend the apple cinnamon and the jelly pom poms. the basic glazed is simply good as well. another plus is that this is right next to the avenue u train stop.

  5. Came here early in the morning expecting fresh donuts and a wide variety. There were a few donuts, nothing very fresh. Bought a couple of donuts to go and tried them both, they were ok but nothing special. The donuts were soft and tasty but not much better than a early morning dunkin donuts doughnut. If you're looking for something special go to the doughnut plant or dough.

  6. False advertising. They don't sell milkshaikh's.

However, if you go too long without having their coffee, you may get the shakes.

    The good:

The coffee tastes surprisingly pretty good
    They are open 24 hours
The service is pretty good depending on who is working
There are no naked people in here

    The bad:

    The donuts are pretty average
Sometimes the donuts can be a little stale
There are no naked people in here

That just about sums it up. If you're all the way down here on Ave U, grab yourself a coffee and an average mediocre donut and see if you agree with me. Much better to buy stuff from here than from a chain. And I recommend the Proscuitto Balls at nearby G & S Salumeria.

And I can still hear you saying we would never break the chain. And if you don't love me now, you will never love me again.

  7. Small, no frills donut and coffee shop.

The usual options. I got Boston cream. 70 cents. It was delicious.

    Much better than Dunkin.

  8. Eek I question their food sanitary . the last time I went to get food the guy used the same towel to wipe stove table counter to wipe his hand and touch my food… Not appetizing. I didn't eat much of it but my bf finished it for me. We both felt horrible afterwards. I haven't tried their pastries but I do question it sometimes.
They seem to never close it's doors ever even on a holiday which I guess is a place for people to go to anytime.
Maybe in the future I will try again..
