Shake Shack, you have my heart. I mean come on… The food stands on its own, but this last stop made me feel at home.
Just to get it out of the way, order the ShackBurger and/or Chick'n Shack and fries. The lemonade is great, but we cheap out and go for the (triple filtered) tap water.
The customer service is pretty damn great. We're from Oklahoma City and the Thunder are back in the Playoffs (May 2016). The guys taking our order found out and held up the line to talk to us about Kevin Durant and how he pretty much walks on water. I'm pretty sure I don't have a say in Durant's career, but these guys were sure laying it on thick in hoping KD moves to the Knicks if the Thunder fall on their face again this year.
Thanks Shake Shack.
This shake shack is great because you get the quality burger we all know and love without the crazy lines of some of the Manhattan locations. I love their fries and the burgers are consistently well crafted. The shack sauce is super yummy too. It's like a smokey mayo and I usually get a side of it for fries. This place is also awesome for vegetarians. The shroom burger is one of the tastiest options- giant fried portobello mushroom stuffed with melted cheese. Stick a fork in me I'm motherfucking done!
I don't understand how I have not left a review for Shake Shack here. I'm embarrassed, but if you've heard of Shake Shack, I probably can't tell you anything that you don't know already.
However, you're still reading, so I will tell you something you already know.
Yes, Shake Shack has great beef burgers. Even the Portobello burger is good. However, I think very highly of the Chick n Shack. The meat is fried perfectly with just enough batter. I haven't had a beef burger from them in a long time because that chicken burger calls my name every time I look at the menu.
I'd skip the Brooklyn Pie Oh My and go for the Citrus Matcha custard. The Brooklyn Pie one was waaaay too sweet. I didn't think I would like citrus with matcha but the flavor worked and it was surprisingly good and refreshing.
I love Shake Shack's melted cheese on the fries but I hate their fries. It's cooked inconsistently and gets stale fast. If only they would change out their fries or even cut their own on premise. That would make the perfect pairing with their burgers.
Ok so I had been hearing about how I needed to try shake shack for years but I was all another burger place stuffing the already inflated fast food market…whatever….
However, needing a quick bite while running errands in my hood, I stopped in for a beer and a burger with my dude and couldn't believe how awesome these burgers actually are.
So good.
Like forget about that fancy pub that charges 20 dollars for a hamburger because it has bleu cheese instead of cheddar because this is a better deal and the burgers are mouthwatering.
I don't know if I can handle a burger and a shake together but it paired perfectly with my beer.
Looks like I found my new spot for burger cravings-which are more frequent than I'd like to admit.
Yum.
So I might be late but this is the first time I try Shake Shack! I had the mushroom burger with crinkly fries…so good! It appeared small but it was unbelievably filling. Loved the burger and the fries with mustard and vinegar…I know kind of weird but I have a unique palette.
Look forward to going again, but this is a treat so maybe in a month or so.
Everything was good, but the hassle (standing on line outside at lunchtime) x the price ($15+ for small burger, fries and a shake) drops it to a 3-star.
The shake was excellent, but I'd recommend not looking up at the board after ordering, as you might see the calories in the shake you just ordered and start to second-guess yourself. Sometimes, ignorance really is bliss.
Hello! West coast native here to try Shake Shack for the first time.
I've grown up with In-n-Out in California, so when it comes down to this showdown of burger chains from opposite ends of the country, I just gotta know which side I'm on. Came to this location after 1pm on a Saturday, and damn it's packed. You'd think everyone finished eating already but I guess not. Not much seating inside, but this Shake Shack had a lot of seating right outside the building in a small public plaza.
Ordered a standard single shackburger, crinkle cut fries, and a vanilla shake.
Wow, I kinda expected a bigger burger for the price I paid for. $5.29? A double-double at in-n-out only costs $2.95. Let's go for taste this time. Angus burger patty was really flavorful, and their potato buns remind me of Hawaiian rolls. Not bad Shake Shack, not bad at all. Fries obviously beat ours cus they're bigger and crisper. Nothing special about the vanilla shake though.
Aight so here's the final verdict from me. Shake Shack, the taste of your burgers and fries is a strong competitor for in-n-out, with its neatly prepped burgers and flavorful fries. The only downside is that you're way too overpriced for a burger joint, and a meal from here isn't as filling. I'm still Team In-n-Out.
Ok so I finally had my first Shake Shack. I still love my In n' Out but this was really good. The lemonade was perfect on the hot day and I wish I had a bigger cup. I ordered the smoke stack which had bacon and peppers. It was very tasty. The crinkle fries were OK, not really my style. Service was quick and I'm glad we came when we did because there was a line out the door when we were leaving. There wasn't enough places to sit but there were plenty of tables outside.
