  1. The shake shack lines at citi field… Always long
    The food… Always amazing

I often hear people ask "is it worth waiting on this line" and my response is an automatic and emphatic "yes!" Citi Field has better food options than most ballparks and sure you can skip the line and get stuff elsewhere, but this is an absolute must if you're headed to the ballpark (especially those doing ballpark tours, etc.) Leave yourself extra time as you may miss the first pitch if you head in too close to game time. Grab a double burger with fries, find your seats and make sure to shout LET'S GO METS between bites of the deliciousness that is Shake Shack

  2. My first Mets game and being hungover as all get out of town, I decided to opt for having Shake Shack. Something I don't normally splurge on. Others went for fish and chips. Yeah. . . . if I'm forking over $10-15 on stadium food, you may as well go big or go home. By the sixth inning the line wasn't too horrible. It moved pretty fast. The prices are a bit skewed from the normal locations in the city. Normally a single burger is like $5-6, here it was about $7.50. Normally a double is roughly $8, here it was about $10.50. After deliberating some time I finally decided since I never had it, I wanted to try the shroom burger, but I also didn't want to be healthy and opted for the Shack Stack: A shroom burger on top of a regular burger. Was it worth it? Yes, hell yes. The shroom burger may bizarrely actually taste better to me than the regular. The regular I feel like you can slide american cheese on it from anywhere and have it taste like any generic fast food cheeseburger. This heaping breaded sucker was oozing with both muenster and cheddar cheese and quite flavorful. The special shack sauce (some ketchup mayo hybrid innovation of shear delight) sealed the deal and that extra kick of bovine on the end – perfection. This was actually worth $10.50.

The concrete thing . . . . I've never had one and I have heard so many raving comments and reviews on their frozen custard. . . . so boring and disappointing. A waste of precious calories. The Mets stadium has a special called 'The Strike Cone': Vanilla frozen custard, blended with chocolate truffle cookie dough, shattered sugar cone, and chocolate sprinkles. I'm betting that Shake Shack unfortunately ran out of nearly all of their ingredients though because the only thing in this was chocolate sprinkles. A huge disappointment leading to children everywhere sobbing into their frozen custards over the lack-thereof of cookie dough and anything truffle. My first time was tarnished, but it doesn't mean I won't ever go to a Shake Shack again. I will just be more apprehensive on my order.

  3. Color me impressed. I didn't have high expectations for a limited-menu satellite location of Shake Shack in a ball field, but these guys do deliver.

We waited in line for about an inning and a half (or two), but when we got our meal it was fresh and delicious. Not world changing, but up there with Five Guys or Elevation Burger – aka the best fast food burgers you can get, IMHO. The shakes and fries are also delicious too, I was surprised to see them scooping ice cream into metal shake containers and running them in a old diner-style blender at with the huge lines they serve, but I guess that's how they maintain quality. Cheese fries were delicious and SUPER filling, too.

I'd go again. The shack stack was pretty cool too, I liked not having to decide which of their burgers to get, haha.

  4. Imagine you took a Shake Shack, placed it in the middle of Citi Field behind center field, stripped the menu of most of their popular items, and then jacked up the prices. Then you'd have Shake Shack Citi Field. I can't blame them for increasing the prices since it's a ballpark and we're all used to it (beers are $9 a bottle…). The lines I can't fault them either. But if you show up early enough, you can get to the front within 20 minutes. There are also two separate lines, which is nice. I also can't fault them for having a limited menu, since it would be a hassle to make more than just the basics. But they should at least have a special Citi Field burger. As it stands, you can get a regular/double Shackburger, Shack Stack, or the shroom burger. They also have the regular hot dog and the chicken dog. That's about it. My Shack Stack took forever because they didn't have the mushrooms ready, which was lame. Other than that, it's a fine Shake Shack experience, better than the worst, but not better than the best.

  5. You can't go wrong! I guess since the shacks are limited in locations this one BOOMs. People that get to the games 2 hours early get the cream of the crop. Everyone else can stand in line for two hours for a try.

The burgers are tasty and made well done no matter what. Everything is a la carte so you have to order sides. The milk shakes are thick and delicious.

Deff a good try if you get there early!

  6. Food: As usual, the best burger in NYC with the longest line ever. I would suggest if you are willing to wait on this line order more then you want so you have no regrets when the burger is all gone in your tummy lol. I recommend to go for the shake burger double and one of their flat top hot dogs. This will get your through the game with no regrets.

Brew: There's not much of a selection here since it's a ball park but they do have something very special to pick over your water down lite garbage beer, Goose Island IPA. It's $10.50 for a 16 oz can but its delicious, cold, and the best beer pick to enjoy your time there.

  7. Of course the biggest draw of this particular Shake Shack is its location.  Being able to watch a Mets game while eating a Shackburger and cheese fries, what's not to like? Well for starters, that line is pretty damn painful. I mean, at any location you've learned to expect a wait, this is like that wait times 10. Luckily I went there early so I wasn't in a huge hurry, but still. Second, this location has a very limited menu. Just burgers, shakes, hot dogs, and fries. Makes sense, as they don't have the space or the time to be cranking out too many items. Third, it's also more expensive at this location, but to fair, so is every other food stand. Most importantly, the burgers and fries are just as good as any Shake Shack location, which means the positives outweigh the negatives.

  8. I can't believe that my first visit ever to a Shake Shack was at Citi Field…and didn't suck!!

Yes, it was even worth waiting on that crazy long line for TWO INNINGS!! How fresh could a shake, burger and fries be at a sporting event? SO FRESH..that's why you're waiting forever for it!

I actually saw them making the shakes the old fashioned way behind the counter…really pleased to see this! The burger was delicious..definitely not wimpy. I was worried that the fries would be a disaster but they were crispy and addictive! I'm a fan!
