Had the dim sum here, and must say it's pretty good. Being a vegetarian / pescatarian, there weren't many dim sum offerings for me to choose from, however. I stuck to the shrimp dim sum and ended up ordering veggie fried rice to complete my meal. Everything I ate was delicious and I overall liked the restaurant and would return.
The waiter was nice, accommodating and kept our teapot filled. If you're not used to traditional dim sum, the experience might be a bit weird, but Shing Wong is a solid place to get your Cantonese food fix.
So this place has changed management quite a number of times and the name of the restaurant continues to vary, but note the location has never changed and that it has been a restaurant for as long as a remember. Now, I came here recently and have been because my grandmother really enjoys the food here.
They offer Cantonese style food – from dimsum to seafood to meat, you name it – they probably have it. Their dimsum is like classic dimsum but one I particularly like is their fried white carrot cake. It's cut up into cubes and more fried since there's more surface area than your typical block of white carrot cake. There's also some egg, pepper, and onion in it too – making a nice twist from the classic carrot cake offered by other places.
My grandmother also celebrated her birthday here, so my large Chinese family all sat around a huge table. And with this, they were super accommodating. Because we had made reservations prior and given them a list of food that we would like to have (made the process much easier because we'd have to wait forever for our food). We ordered different dishes (mostly the typical Cantonese style veggies with some sort of meat) and the grand two lobster, six crab dish. Being that it is Chinese food, it tends to be very oily and a bit salty for my taste, but overall I thought it was very good. We had a lot to take home and they do expect you to take it home – it's a lot of food!
Waiters are all super attentive and the food is relatively cheap. Especially for a large dinner, it wound up being about $10, maybe a little over, per person.
